So now I fly a Kronos when doing missions and so far things have been great with the tracking computer. I just have to ask though, is there a better mod than a tracking computer for the 4th med slot?
Thanks

Consider that a last resort. What to actually fit is sort of hard to say withou your actual fitting. Parrots, commence!

my fitting is 2 cap recharger II, 2 SS tracking computers. with my cap skills (non-maxed) plus 2 tech 1 CCC rigs. im stable for 15-16 minutes which is more than enough time to clear a majority of one room.
I say 2 tracking comps because you will track as well as medium guns, even using 425's, plus you are extending the range of antimatter to 50-ish km (with scripts of course) plus additional falloff.

Wrong, your 425mm rails will never track better than medium guns. Even if the rad/s is higher, your 425mm rails have a much larger signature resolution. That's not to say having tracking computers is a bad thing. You're solid.

I have an AB, a TC and 2 Cap Rechargers as my mids for my Kronos. If I were to drop the AB, I would fit another faction TC. ...this doesn't even seem to be a regular case of rats fleeing the sinking ship. Seems more like the rats are on fire, the ship is on fire, and the sea is full of drunk Russians. - Jacob Etienne |

It'll vary from mission to mission. Most of the time I have a TP there but...
If there's distance between you and the next gate: AB
Serpentis(or more than 100km between you can the groups?): SB
Any time I may need to sustain my tank a bit longer than 5 minutes(the AE bonus rooms comes to mind): Cap charger
there's no hard and fast rule about what to fit, just experiment in the missions, you'll figure out what you need to bring to compensate soon enough ^_^

AB, Tracking Computer, <something>, cap booster. No CCC rigs, use tank or gank rigs depending on your fit. My <something> is a web. I know it has limited uses, but it's there when I need it. Much like the cap booster.
EFT says I'm cap stable for 3 minutes (without the booster) and thats been enough for me. The cap booster is for missions where I get ECM'd so much I can't kill the ships fast enough.
Then again, I knew all the missions well enough to not draw too much heat.

lets compare largest guns for each group: bonused (7.5%tracking/lvl) 425mm II, double scripted: 0.02911r/s vs. unbonused 250mm II, unscripted: 0.02875r/s (besides the vigilant and some tech 3 subs, no tech 1 or tech2 ship gives a bonus to medium hybrid tracking.)
in-game however, the sig rad of the guns are only apparent when trying to shoot frigs, inties and hacs under optimal. beyond optimal range, these ships are heading straight for you and tracking becomes a non-issue.
Between shooting at bs's and cruisers. i get better hits on smaller targets (again at optimal) than bigger targets that orbit out at 40KM's or so, since its all tracking and sig radius is factored less into into the equation.
however....at suboptimal ranges, tactics change. and everything smaller than battlecruisers becomes drone fodder.
good thing i fly with an orca to tractor in wrecks beyond 40km.
