Ive recieved an email from eve-online saying I should reactivate my account and that a substantial amount of isk is waiting for me and I should spend it. Its like 4 trillion isk or something. Is that a standard email that Ive misread, I certainly didnt have that in my account when I left...
Heres part of the email;
"I've recently noticed that when we last parted ways a substantial amount of ISK remained in my account. While one would normally relish such a windfall, this has proven a rather problematic situation for me, as the lack of sufficient advancement in AI has left me unable to spend it myself."
blah blah it goes on about reactiavting, then says;
"The total amount awaiting you is 4,636,787,012,251 which I have been told can be traded for at least one full month of time in New Eden, if not more.* Please return and take this ISK off my hands. Spend it on PLEX. Spend it training new skills. Indulge in a night of reckless abandon. Having 4,636,787,012,251 ISK in my bank and not being able to spend it is torture. Please save me from this fate."
and then it advertises using plexes to carry on playing.
Is it me misreading that, what gives with the stupid amount of isk?
No you cant have my stuff.

The decimal point was misplaced in those automated mails. You actually have 463,678,701.22(51) ISK on that character.

a guy posted in c&p that he got one where the link was fairly suspicious, so even if a lot of people did get "proper" mails like that some time ago I'd be a bit cautious when checking the link.

Please tell me that you are being sarcastic.
Because the mail that the OP got is a phishing mail. I got the exact same one around the time the OP posted.

Pretty sure it's not. CCP has been sending them out for a while and one of the community managers specifically commented on it saying that the decimal point was misplaced.
Kinda annoying that they haven't sorted it out yet. -----

Any offer email you will get from CCP is going to contain the name of your account.
This one doesn't. And I can't imagine that CCP will link to, for instance: hxxp://d*v.thinkfirst.com.au/~edward/en/cache/https/secure.eve-online.com/login.aspxReturnUrlfAccountManMenu.aspx.html
(I changed the URL a little bit to prevent people to go to it).

The email looks exactly like the perfectly legitimate emails CCP has been sending out several months ago, much earlier this year, the decimal point bug included. Now, this particular email may or may not be a phishing email... but without the exact reactivation link I can not tell for sure either way.

Well then, it looks like "chance of it being phishing" just went up a lot.

No, it doesn't look exactly like the perfectly legitimate emails CCP has been sending out several months ago. Because that one contained your account-name/character name.

Since you didn't post the entire mail (and shouldn't, at least not your accountname or the entire login-link) I can only say that it looks similar to the mail I got a couple of months back.
The link I got reads like this (I changed the obvious account ID and those two hashes, so don't jump to my rescue, mods):
http://links.mail.eveonline.com/ctt?kn=5&m=12345567&r=QWERTZUIOPASD123&b=0&j=ASDFGHHJ123&mt=1&rt=0
Notice the domain name. Clearly a subdomain of eveonline.com and therefore valid. -
