I am here to let people know about one of the biggest mass killings of slaves in the past few years.
Earlier today 160,800 slaves were merciless murdered in Utopia when a gang of savages destroyed the Obelisk freighter they were being transported in...
http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=13706468
I do not know the motives of the pilot transporting them - maybe she was about to give them their freedom - maybe she is a slave dealer - I cannot say...
However, what can be said with certainty is that the pilots Skelee VI, CoReSol, Ari Menahem, Quawr and Myrradah have a lot of Minmatar blood on their hands...

I would make the small point that "slaves" is a standard CONCORD-recognised commodity and includes slaves of all races, which the Angel Cartel gleefully trades in, so we have no idea how many of those were actually Minmatar. Mane 614

In any case, it's Miss Lisa who decided to fly around in a completely untanked freighter, and who was transporting the slaves in the first place. Funny that you didn't mention her. |

It's more unescorted than untanked, since you can't fit any modules onto a freighter. Point still stands though; Pilot is an idiot and got her ship blown up. |

You didn't, actually. You posted a link, sure, but you went out of the way to name the people who blew up the freighter, and missed mentioning the person who was flying it.
It's a senseless loss of life, in any case. Capsuleers are, basically, awful. |

Makes me wonder how pathetic the graduation standards are at the academies these days...because I hope that anyone in the IGS with half a braincell realizes that a freighter in busy 0.0 space has a very large bulls-eye with the words "SHOOT ME" painted on it. Besides, couldn't she just have done a couple of jump freighter runs to achieve the same goal with much less risk to her ship or cargo? (Although cynoships are often destroyed after they have served their purpose, they are designed to be disposable, much more so than a freighter!) |

Minmatar slaves may be the ones who get all of the attention from bleeding heart emancipationists and sociopathic terrorists, but there are an awful lot of Ealurians enslaved in the Empire as well. Dulce et decorum est pro imperium mori. |

A tragic loss of human life.
In the face of so much senseless death, it's easy to cast stones, but we don't know the circumstances around this incident. Given the volatile nature of non-Empire space, the aggressors might have scanned the ship, seen 100,000+ people, and assumed it was an invasion force. Likewise, we may never know why this pilot decided to traverse such a dangerous area. Perhaps this was the only way she could manage to get the slaves to safety.
Whatever the case, my prayers go out to all those that died. although my eyes were open they might have just as well've been closed

I'll assume that not all Khanid prisoners are Minmatar, so yes, that goes a long way toward the sort of thing I was asking. Although in the Empire, I believe families may also be punished together with the criminal. |

What all of you, especially those of you of Matari descent fail to remember is that more Matari die daily due to the Minmatar rebellion than in this freighter incident.
Who do you think crews the Amarrian vessels you've been gunning down in border space for these last few months? Who Loads our laser crystals? Who maintains our engines? Who?
Matari, more importantly Matari who remained loyal to the word of God, i'd argue that the leaders of this rebellion should be brought to justice and tried to genocide against their own people. Us Amarrians we are not a brutal people, we are not a people who subjugate others, we merely try to elevate the Matari as a race and how do you repay our benevolence? First you rebel and commence an attack upon our empire which was annointed by God, and second commit genocide upon your own by kill those who crew our vessels. 160,800 'Slaves' murdered, go have a look at our War losses so far, i guarantee you've already butched those numbering in the millions. |

Why, so that it would further enforce that Minmatar are the Majority? Last I looked 50%-75% is a majority, well I suppose unless you were looking at minmatar being exactly 50% and then you would have to have just one other "race" in there, to take up the other half, then you wouldn't really have a majority.
Instead we find that there are a handful of others that feed the Amarr slave stock. so let's assume that those "mongrels" and assorted others only equal 1% of the slave stock, 50% Minmatar + 49% Eular + 1% other, still reaffirms that Minmatar are the Majority. No? |

I will be meditating upon this loss soon. I would beseech everyone else to do so - regardless of creed. Let us not forget that we are all humans. Dirty heretical mud-child, reporting in. |

This is a new low, even for you, Blake. Over 160,000 innocent humans, regardless of ethnicity or race, were murdered and all you have to offer is this tripe? So much for supposed benevolence of the Amarrian "master race". And you wonder why your people are nearly universally despised...

No, an intelligent being would not assume the reason for this to be related to Amarrian holders. Unless those who destroyed the vessel have previously expressed loyalty to a holder.

I love freedom and I applaud anyone willing to place their own freedom, life and wealth on the line to do so. That being said, if you choose to take this righteous task upon yourself you have a duty to do it without your head in your ass. I would call for this pilots expulsion from the armed forces and to have their right to fly revoked. Pirates will be pirates, they have their own jobs to fulfill so they cannot be blamed for doing what they do. The person who can be blamed is the idiot who decided to fill a freighter with poor slaves and fly, unescorted, into this den of thieves. Terrible loss of life.
However I'm compelled to point out that we don't know the circumstances in which these people were taken into slavery. It is entirely possible that the whole lot of them were criminals. All I see are people assuming things about these slaves. Assuming things that help support their own causes, when the fact of the matter is we don't know anything more about them than that trade regulations classified them as slaves.
Regardless of the circumstances people died. It doesn't matter who they were, what they did or didn't do, they still died. Show them and their families at least a speck of respect. |

While I don't condone or agree with slavery, the blood is on the freighter pilot's hands for being thick headed and dumbassed enough to fly the vessel through Utopia of all places without an escort.
Whether they were slaves, mine workers, commercial passengers or livestock is irrelevant, a freighter or transport pilot has a duty of care and responsibility to their passengers and cargo.

A tragic loss of life. I hope many of them were at least properly prepared to release their souls into the are of God.
For those who are quick to point fingers or place blame, has anyone yet contacted the pilot in question?
Additionally some of you, like pirate-leader Verone, are typical in their blaming-the-victim approach. I think the primary responsibility for getting shot tends to be with the person pulling the trigger.
