So for the past 4 month's my corp has been living in a class 3 wormhole system. We have 3 poses and a capital assembly array, but for the past 2 weeks, every week, a corp has been coming in and basically forcing us to pay 'protection money' Or they'll knock our POS into reinforced. Is there anything that can be done about this at all? The first two times they did we tried to mount a defense, but they somehow manage to get like a 100 battleships together just to go after us. Is this considered a grief tactic? if not how can we get them out of our system?

It isn't exactly your system now is it, aslong as you are there you are open to the risks associated with living in wormhole space such as the random folks looking for a fight or the organised group wanting to hcontrol a system themselves. All you can do is analyse the situation and see if it is worth all the hassle. ------

It doesn't sound like you're ready for null-sec.
If your plans depend on being left alone, you are doomed.
The people that got 100 BS to visit have 200 more alts, and hundreds of friends. Once you paid them off, hundreds of more organizations found out you are vulnerable.
The bad news is if you do the opposite and fight them, then all the organizations that want PvP will learn that you can be counted on for fights.
The only reason to go to null-sec is if you want BOTH PvP AND the chance to exploit null-sec for riches.
Allow me to end by repeating my first point, for emphasis:
If your plans depend on being left alone, you are ultimately doomed.

Edited by: Tom Sasaki on 13/12/2009 20:11:42 Get out while you can.
And when you say 100 BS in a C3 system.
My response is WTF. If memor serves none of the possible WHs you can get in a C3 allow you to move more than 20 battleships through before they collapse. 100 BS means they have a staging pos inside with the battleships stored and are bringing in pilots via pods in fact most have a 5 or 10 bs limit based on mass limitation values.
My 0.0 experience tells me that even with 100 battleships you could stop them if you have 5+ posgunners and set up a large minmatar faction deathstar(Dominion or Angel control tower). But then whats the point.
You'd still need logistics pilots to keep the modules repaired etc and I doubt it would ever be worth the effort.

It's threads like these that remind me of why I love EvE.
But yeah, dig in and don't give these guys an inch. Utilize every dirty tactic at your disposal. If they're going to kick down your sandcastle, make them work for it. ___________________________________ ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in EvE... you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

How did they get a 100 BS into a class 3? You could either wait them out (they'll get out before the wh collapses possibly) You could bubble the entry and camp it (it's 0.0 after all) It's not griefing as they are making money on it.

you have multiple options 1. you could continue paying, but then you run out of isk 2. learn to fight back 3. move back to high-sec 4. find a hub and move there, then they have to go through a minimum of two wormholes to get to you. 5. make friends with somebody bigger/stronger 6. diaf

Find your wormholes. If you are not going to use them, abuse them so they are almost closed. No one likes going through stink eye wormholes.
Now, you MIGHT have 100 BS's sitting in your system, logged off... In that case, it is time to change systems.

Number One: Look for a spy in your corp. If corp been coming into ur corporation wormhole for the past two weeks most likely someone has been passing out intel.
Number Two: Always scan down and close wormhole exits and entrances as soon as they are located or at least leave the mass restriction at critical.
Number Three: Always scan your wormhole system for traffic, especially unwanted one.
All being sad i find it hard to believe that a corp has been able to find ur hole (that didnt sound right) for the last two weeks without them actually either having a spy in your corp or at least someone logging off in your wormhole system whom you should be able to locate.
If none of the above helps hire mercs and pray to god that after protection they wont turn over on you...

The most difficult part of employing this tactic would be to get 100 people on at the same time for a few hours. Its just a matter of how big their corp is.
Do you have a static exit to k-space (esp. high sec)? If so, you are a ripe target for this sort of tactic. All they need to do is leave one scanning ship logged off in your worm-space and they can flood it with ships any time they please. Thats assuming they didn't just log off a bunch of alts in your system for their weekend playtime. Whether or not you have a k-space exit, your best bet is to move on to another worm-space. If it keeps happening, you probably have a spy.

You are saying you have a cap assembly array in a c3 wh system with "like" a hundred hostile batleships and already paid them twice to leave you alone? roflmao, there's just too much impossibilities and stupidities to give any advice.
I think you forgot to add: 10 bn "protection money" paid every week, all financed by building caps inside a c3 and selling them in empire

Okay, this might require some planning, but here's my ebil-stop-bad-people plan.
Stall them until there is only one open WH to hisec or losec in your W-space. Meanwhile, have a guy go to all the moons and see if they have any active POSes.
If they have POSes: Well you're pretty much ****ed. If they have POSes they can potentially build lotsa BS's and the like, generally making you miserable until you give in.
If they don't: Now you can have fun. Set up some deathstars, then say you'll discuss some kind of agreement with them, and make it clear that it's all or nothing. (IE either you reach an agreement or they nuke you.). Now, have say 20 or so pilots go to that 1 entrance I talked of earlier and set up as many large bubbles as possible in all directions. That will not only make them angry as hell, it will buy you valuable time as they hafta burn / shoot their way out to warp to you. Make sure all your POSes have gunners and get ready for a hell of a fight.
Now, RR aside, if you have a few dreads or carriers you can effectively snipe them with those ships and your POS gunners (and remember, CONCENTRATE YOUR BLOODY FIRE). With any luck you can wittle them down while they're shooting your guns. Chances are good that before they've lost 50% of their numbers they'll give up. As they flee your system try and make a deal with their leadership to prevent this happening again.
Then do a victory dance.
While the likelyhood of you actually pulling this off is pretty low, consider it a possibility.

Are you mental? Who in their right mind would warp from moon to moon? All you need is combat scanner probes, and/or directional scanning depending on system size. if it's there, build caps, drop them on their pos, rinse and repeat as needed.
