Pilots, the State needs you! Every day the rapacious Gallente invaders sally forth to murder brave Caldari Citizens! They have no mercy, no humanity in their hearts, and they will not rest until everything we know and love has been taken from us.
You can make a difference, Pilot. Enlist in the Protectorate today!

What a very Gallente-like tactic you seem to be taking. Playing the heartstrings instead of practicality isn't the type of failure I've come to expect from the Caldari. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jakiin Holder Heir of the Kingdom 'Pacifist Reclaimer' |

How pitiful. This is exactly the kind of propaganda Caldari criticise us for using. Perhaps the Caldari are far more Gallente than they think? -----

Really now, Mssr. Turinson, I'm not that frightening I assure you.
Actually, I'm quite tame.
But an excellent start, although I would suggest you work harder on your eschatological concepts of the current conflict. Perhaps you could contact the Theology Council of your allies in the Empire. Then you could create a propaganda piece truly inspiring.
"The cloven Gallentean hordes have arisen from that dark and foetid pit they call their Federation. Their black hearts beating in unison with one purpose and design: the destruction of our nation and the deaths of our people. They are not human! These foul and wretched creatures who seek to plunge our nation into flames..."
So on and so on.
Ensure to make as many references to death, fire, and lamentations of women as much as possible. |

You are obviously going to ignore anything I say, so I'll make this brief and leave you in the assurance that this message is not for your benefit. But for those who would rather an end to all of this.
Lies. It is people like you that perpetuate this War. Hostile, violent and ultimately seeking a chance to harm others.
I hope the more, sane, members of the Protectorate and State forces will think with more clarity when working to resolve this conflict.

Originally by: Jianni Sotaku Lies. It is people like you that perpetuate this War. Hostile, violent and ultimately seeking a chance to harm others.
Really, Ms. Sotaku? That is what you see, here?
Personally, I see a lousy propagandist, probably well-intentioned but producing a product that's closer to parody than real propaganda.
Your own comments are much more skilled, I must say. I wonder whether you recognize how similar they are. "Hostile, violent, and ultimately seeking a chance to harm others." What a fine description of a monster, a war criminal in intent if not in fact. What a pretty portrait you paint for your people to shoot at.
The unhappy truth of it is that both your comments and this poor propagandist's reflect genuine fears on both sides. The Gallente fear the warmongering, sadistic Caldari. The Caldari fear the warmongering, vicious Gallente.
The clever modern propagandist is the one who recognizes that not all of the enemy are alike-- that it's not the whole Caldari nation that is to be feared and hated, just the soldiers coming over the ridge in a few minutes-- or, perhaps, their wicked masters.
The danger comes from the psychological backwash as propaganda meets reality:
Originally by: Random Gallente Soldier's Mind Only some Caldari are evil, AND those Caldari are just the ones presently in charge BUT the Caldari people we encounter do not realize this AND they do not support us against the evil that has taken control of their nation, SO this evil is more pervasive than we believed-- something must be done....
This results in fear and mistrust of the other making each side into what the other fears. The Caldari and Gallente have been playing this game at various levels for the past two hundred years or so. And the more everyone plays, the easier it becomes.
The Caldari, up to and including Tibus Heth, are not in this for the chance to hurt people, Ms. Propagandist. There may be a few psychopaths on either side, but the real worry is the overjustification of violence: the righteous blindness that leads to atrocity.
The empires are at war. You have territory, homes, loved ones, and beliefs to defend. What greater justification do you need?
There are Demented enough on the battlefield without encouraging the combatants to genuinely view the enemy as monstrous.

Perhaps I was rather harsh in my wording, and I should point out that I do not feel this way about all Caldari, or even the Caldari race on a whole. Merely the few, like the pilot who opened this thread, that seek to create chaos at the expense of the lives that will ultimately be changed for the worst because of this indiscriminate hatred.
There is the potential to end this, but the chances of that grow slimmer each time one of these pilots try to spread their infection.
I won't lie to you, the very reason I joined the capsuleer program was out of fear. The fear that the Caldari would not stop once they reached the limits of what War zone dominance could take them. They already had forces in both Luminaire and Intaki, what was to stop them from going to Lirsautton next?
The Federation allows us to live on as our own people with our own culture, and I couldn't risk the Caldari providing us with that same liberty. But I've learnt, I've evolved in my perceptions of the Caldari, and the doubts are almost past. It is just these few bad eggs that maintain the last vestiges of fear in my mind.

Perhaps, but you still see a rather guileless propagandist making a naked plea for support as a "bad apple" who seeks to "create chaos."
If you haven't noticed, the Caldari State is losing systems fast and the Protectorate is badly out of position. It's even rumored that Protectorate command elements aren't taking the situation seriously compared with the situation on the Amarrian front and will allow Placid and perhaps even Black Rise to fall before they intercede. That will be interesting if it is true.
This pilot is merely doing what those who inspired your own fear were likely doing: attempting to get help. How is this more chaos-seeking than the actions of your own recruiters? Fewer people die when one side surrenders, yes, but somehow I don't imagine you would consider your own defense to be in service to chaos and suffering.
He's afraid, and playing on fear-- not, as I've noted, entirely unjustified. After all, if your dropships land with loads of soldiers terrified of every human being on the worlds they invade, what is the inevitable result?
It is a sad sort of spiral: the more afraid everyone is, the more right they are to fear.
A literal bad apple has such proverbial force because its corruption spreads. You and he can both play this part just as well. But because your words are more reasonable-sounding, yours have the potential to travel further and inspire more-- first to action of the kind you seek, but later to other and less-tasteful acts.
I do not wish this war to sink to a level where I, a pirate and kinslayer, would feel comfortable entering it, Ms. Sotaku.
The pilot's mantle is one I took up swearing to protect my homeworld. Please do not assist this war in its slide towards a state where I could fulfill that oath without tainting what I would wish to defend.

The Caldari State isn't losing systems. The Federation is regaining the systems taken from it, and personally, I am not interested in going any further then the return of these systems to Federal Rule.
Black Rise is not, and probably never will be a matter of concern for me. Not ruling it out completely, but this time round, I will not become a 'rapacious Gallente invader'. I'm not even Gallentean, let alone the other two.
But if that trust winds up putting the Federation back in the position it has just managed to free itself from. Then perhaps I shall have to give more thought to a 'buffer zone'.
Lets hope I won't.

I actually kind of like it. Those of us who are familiar with this kind of propoganda see right through it, but the common working Joe? He'll eat it up with a spoon.
If possible, could I order 10,000 or so posters or aquire limited publishing rights? I know a few people who might like to develop an Amarrian anti-Republic/Star Fraction version of this.
Keep up the good work!

Pilot,
This is nice poster but it could be improved by introducing corporate (or even MegaCorporate) sponsorship to get the message to a wider audience than the IGS. I'm certain that you could approach one of the SuVee or KK representative subsidiary companies to get onboard with this.

The state has been attacked in the past for our beliefs and as anyone who looks into it can see that democracy doesn't work, so i support the state, but still i will not put it befor the commonwealth.

I'm happy for you, but most patriotic Caldari - myself included - will claim that the only reason you have that liberty is A) on Gallentean sufferance and B) because the Caldari demonstrated to them what happens when said sufferance is withheld.
If you have "last vestiges of fear" based on the behavior of a few idiots like Pilot Turinson, then is it any wonder that the State still treats the Gallente the way we do? This time it was a fool. Next time there may be someone of much more influence trying to compell their brethren to further hatred and acts of cruelty.
Dehumanzing can to horrid things, and I think this war is already horrid enough.

Fine sentiments, Ms. Sotaku. Please just make sure that you are as quick to criticize your own side's vicious propagandists as those of the State if you wish to avoid atrocities.
