Vegemite brigade checking in. The saltier less runny Vegemite I must say I prefer. Both look like something from a 40 pack a day smokers lung.

Its like arguing over which of the two rapists is going to go first, leaving a very much unwanted after taste.

Love it .... when spread on hot toast with melted butter.
Hate it .... in sandwiches or drizzled over my ice cream.

You know nothing of marmite until you have driven past the Burton on Trent factory and taken a big whiff.
Well, this was 7 years ago ... is it still there spewing its love and hate paste fumes over the mid north west?
I may even be mistaken with an HP brown sauce factory (equally powerful on the olfactory lobes), but I'm pretty sure ... by sight AND smell .... that I saw the mighty marmite facility when I was last in Burton |

Marmite??? ... LOL, NOW I HAVE TO TRY IT!!!
What does it taste like?
Wasnt aware this type of food existed, since in latinamerica everything is based off meat or meat products ... we dont have much of a vegan culture down here.
Can I buy this online and have it delivered to Panama?
I'm a freak for new tastes ... ---

Does it taste prolly like Malta?
Since its a beer byproduct I might enjoy it. I never quite liked regular beers, but after discovering Leffe beers I'm willing to try everything beer related ---

This is due to the line between love and hate being very thin. |

Marmite is great, alot of people do not like it by itself, or simply on toast etc.
But there are other ways to enjoy it, you might not even know you are eating marmite.
Making cheese on toast? toast one side, spread a little marmite on the untoasted side, place cheese on (and whatever else you like, fresh tomatoes / ham / etc), toast cheese as usual, and enjoy.
You can also add a spoonful to things like chilli, spag bol, lasagne, gravy etc, to add a great depth of flavour, without it actually tasting like marmite. ~ Woke up, got myself a gun |
