Hello all,
Just obtained a Navy Geddon and would like to use it on Lvl 4s to give my Abaddon / Nightmare a rest.
I've got the option of T2 guns and I think that this ship is a Mega Pulse boat as I'm having trouble fitting/running 7x Dark Blood Mega Beams. Please could you give me some advice on possible fits for lvl 4 mission running using both Pulse & Beams?
---------
My Current fit is cap stable but a bit of a lolfit!!
High's 7x Dark Blood Mega Beam Lasers / Dark Blood Mega Pulse Lasers (T2 Option Available) - with faction / t2 crystals 1x Drone Link Aug
Med All Dark Blood Cap rechargers (was thinking of an 1x 100MW AB when using Pulse!!)
Lows All four Dark Blood Hardeners 1x Dark Blood Large Armour Rep 3x Dark Blood Reactor Control
Rigs 3x T1 CCC
Drones Various T2
-----------------
I would like to ditch one of the reactor controls and replace with 1600 T2 Plates & maybe a heat sink for lulzROF, this would mean replacing a rig with a t1 or t2 PG rig?
/me needs a little help!
Thanks for any help and Merry Christmas!

Please contract me your ANI and I will offer her a good life.
Edit for seriousness:
First of all, you should go with T2 Pulse so you can use Scorch. Then, don't use plates on a PVE ship, and NEVER use T2 plates. You want at least 2 heat sinks. I could imagine a AB fit coud work with a x-type rep. maybe.
Will EFT something in a hour or so when I'm home from work.

hes either being serious and very dumb, or hes trolling me for not editing my copy and pasting.
i shoud have edited out the do more dmg bit that i had put in brackets after the heardeners.
I ment by fitting faction, the reduction in COU usagge ment the drone link would fit.

Edited by: Concubinia Scarlett on 17/12/2009 15:25:40 TBH matey, the Navy Apoc is better suited to running missions and will provide a much better ISK/hour return than the Navy Geddon. The Navy Geddon is a great ship, but is geared much more towards PVP, being basically a beefier Geddon, and works at its best as a trimarked, buffer tanked DPS platform.
If you are desperate to use it for PVE I would run a setup with 3 Heatsinks, dual large reppers and rat-specific hardeners in the lows, guns to suit the mission, (Pulses for close range missions - angel extravaganza etc, beams for ungated/longer range missions)and whatever you can slap on to approximate cap stability, you will probably need at least one injector.
If it was my ISK though, and you fly Amarr, its gotta be the Navy Apoc all the way.
*edit*: some 'interesting' ideas in this thread, DCU II's and T2 plates on mission boats?!?

Get the best large armor repair that you can.
Swap the 3 hardeners depending on the damage type of the mission.
I don't know why you shouldn't use a DCUII on a mission BS when you have 8 low slots.
The open low slot can be more tank / more CAP (if you want to run the AB, or fit an MWD) / or more damage if you fit another heat sink.

The only time I'd see an ANI being worth a look over the Apoc is vs. Angels where being able to use Berserkers would have a damage type bonus, plus the extra DPS would be handy for overwhelming the high Angel resists.

Because if you're dipping into structure you're doing it wrong. A racial hardener or EANM will offer better tank in almost all cases and a damage mod will improve your isk/hour, thus making either one a better use of the low slot.

On the topic of DCUII;
I'd say use one, as for starters it ain't that much worse then an EANM or something like that for armor resists, and the one time when your not paying attention and to fall into structure (or Hero/Honor as it is also referred too) you will be very happy about putting on that, on paper, worse module on. You know, **** will hit the fan sometime, this is as true for PVE as for PVP, it only tends to happen more often in PVP...

All I know is, the DCU bonus doesn't stack with other mods. 2 EANM + DCU gives you more tank than 3 EANM, unless they are faction. And depending on the two damage types you are tanking, there are situations where adding a DCU will increase your tank more than adding a hardener will.
Plus, if I'm on a high rep amt., low armor ship (like a T3) I'd never leave home without it :)
