Something that's puzzled me since I first joined faction war is how the Navy of the factions react when there's a war target in system. If a pilot of the enemy militia has a high enough standing with that faction, the Navy won't shoot them. The message will pop up and the Navy will spawn, but they will just circle the war target and not fire at him or do anything to hinder his presence in their high sec.
Now. You take a pilot who's actually on the side the Navy's fighting for but has a low enough sec status and he will be engaged, generally by the "police", but if the Navy has already been spawned there, they will shoot and kill the pilot that's "on their side". http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=13716237
I mean seriously. It shouldn't matter if my Amarr or Caldari standings are high, I shouldn't be able to go into their high sec and just sit around shooting targets. A dart in and gank? Yea, that's fine. But just 'hanging out'? Come on. I gave up my right to linger in Caldari and Amarr high sec when I signed up to fight for the Gallente regardless of my standing with the other factions. But more and more I see pilots of enemy militias sitting in their opponents high sec with these militia rats just circling around them not even shooting at them. The enemy high sec becomes safer than the enemy low sec, you can even dock there.
Why not make it to where the Navy will engage members of the enemy militia no matter what their standing with the faction is? People don't like getting shot at in Caldari or Amarr high sec? They knew the price when they signed up to fight for the Gallente/Minmatar. I'm just a Caldari pilot fighting for the Gallente in Minmatar and Amarr ships. |

File a bug report. This is reminiscent of an issue where people with high standings with the "enemy" would sit in plexes and not get shot at by the "enemy" NPCs in them. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

Personally, I love the fact that you can hang out in enemy highsec. A few members of our corp (who are not pirate red), can literally follow WT's into a highsec gate, and pop them right in front of their navy, and still make it back out.....In a BC none the less! |

It looks like you got shot by police for having too low sec status. I don't see any gallente navy on that killmail. As for being able to go to enemy npc space without consequence, well, at least for once there is some reward for grinding up high standings with empire factions. My reaction to the tier system and skill tree overhaul https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=899560#post899560 |

Rhoden is the NPCs that usually shoot criminals. The ones on the km I posted often share my high sec killmails on people who don't have the high enough standings. This whole thing is just one of those issues that break up the sandbox feeling ... You go to war with someone .. your peacetime standing with them dont mean jack ****.
Standings shouldnt matter at all .. essentially its just an exploit of sorts. |

I have posted many times wishing CCP would fix the Faction NPC problem.
It's so simple to do but for CCP it seems too hard to grasp. The high sec faction Navy and Police NPC's should be deleted. They serve no purpose except place a barrier to pvp between consenting targets. No other wars have this NPC annoyance attached to them. Why do FW players have to put up with it?
There is not one valid reason for Faction NPC's to be anywhere but plexes.

I don't know about that. There are times when Faction War players don't wish to engage in pvp and hang out in high sec, thus, non-consenting. I like the idea of the different controlled space. But if they're supposed to get shot at in that section of space... make sure they get shot at. Because it makes FW different. It's one of the more "role-playing" aspects of the game. (Though I'm not much of an rper. I'm just here for the pew.) I'm just a Caldari pilot fighting for the Gallente in Minmatar and Amarr ships. |
