We had one made 200 AU from the last planet in the system.
Something to do with probing an object then making the scan range max (256 or 128 whatever with deep space) and warping to it will result in warping to far away place.
I have not been able to recreate one anywhere else.
Is it an exploit or not? I've come across some 0.0 fleets at the far reaches of the solar system.
If so when will it be fixed.

Those deep space bookmarks are ancient relics from the old probing system. They can no longer be made as the probes no longer give you any any warpable points until you have a 100% hit on the target.

It's not broken so no fixing needed.
Also I don't think you can make these deep space bookmarks anymore as you can't get out that far (maybe I am wrong, sure someone will correct me). I got some bookmarks in some 0.0 systems which are way out in the middle of nowhere and have done for as long as I can remember. ------

couldnt have been ,made by coming into the wh then the wh moving to a new location therefore creating a random bookmark spot 200au from the nearest planet?

Achieving Deep space probe max scan range should be achievable...however its done.

If you can replicate it, it's a bug and should be reported, if not it's just a glitch tbh.

They are not at all hard to make.
There are threads on another EVE fansite that show how, pictures and all.
Search around a bit, it's even a small business here:

Trying to figure out how he does it but it's early and I don't have my thinking cap on yet, here's what I thought up so far.
- prober with max astrometrics, max rangefinding but zero pinpointing - target with MWD, LSE's, intertia's and shield rigs (drake gets over 3300 scan sig) - find equilibrium between 100% warpable hits and probe size as deviation is half the probe size, continue doing hops till you're far far away.
Sounds logical but not sure if that's the method, essentially it comes down to having partially crappy probing skills and a huge, HUGE target. Just some theory crafting here.

It's possible for sure, I've hired the guy that was previously linked above.
No idea how he does it though, but I am pretty certain it is not an exploit, bug perhaps yes.

Have tried myself to replicate it, but without success - so if it's a skill thing - then maybe my skills are too good

never made one that deep but I have made some that are WAYYYYY out there with minimal time and effort. Makes for a fun time when your SS is not really probe able

Edited by: Clueless Alt on 20/12/2009 22:31:26 It's pretty easy, but it takes a lot of time to make a real deep ss. Personnally I got bored after 150au.

Isn't the definition of an exploit using a bug to give yourself an advantage over other players?
The fact CCP hasn't shut this thread down yet leads me to believe they don't see it as such, but I'm just sayin'.
I'd classify it as 'working as intended, via CCP logic'. Kind of like how some how sensor strength makes you immune to probing...

The ulradeep safespots were actually classed exploit a long while ago. Those that are deeper than 1000 AU that is. I think one of the patches also removed those bookmarks from people and places. However it was long time ago and they might have changed their mind inbetween.

I use bookmarks of collapsed wh's for this, especially when they are far away..
On a side note, why anchor a TCU in a wormhole?

Warp to the most far away thing you can. When you have less than 10AU left to warp, log off and log right back on. Be quick about it. When you log back in, make immediate bookmark as soon as you can. You will see that you have overshot your old intended target by some good number of AU. Go back to the other side of the system, and then warp to your new bookmark. Log off when less than 10 AU to go. Rinse and repeat until you are happy. Heavier ships overshoot more. That is a hint. Grin. Dotchya just love goons? They find the best hax.
