Edited by: Wacktopia on 22/12/2009 16:47:09 I've been playing around with ideas for using Ishkur for Solo PvP and came up with the following for use at range against short-range setup T1 cruisers (Blaster-rax) or maybe a blaster Brutix (which is typically short ranged and has poor active tank).
Level V Stats (I get pretty close to these)... Resists: 70, 72, 86, 70 EHP: 8.5k DPS Navy Antimatter (Orbit 16km): 181 (194 heated) DPS Navy Uranium (Orbit 20km): 167 (178 heated) Speed: 2107m/s Cap: Lasts ages with injectors.
Intended Targets: Short-range T1 cruisers or maybe a blaster-Brutix with no active tank.
Potential Problems: My DPS < Target's tank. Target shoots drones before I pull them in. Backup turns up (I fly off). Target is fitted with ranged guns (I notice and gtfo).
Points of note: Swapping out DCU for MagStab nerfs the EHP down to 5.5 but gives ~20 dps. You need a +1% PG implant to fit this.
Any comments / suggestions?

150's track like shyte. You are going to have a very hard time finding Digital Booster Rockets if you can even find them at all and I'd hate to guess on how expensive they are(most likely more expensive than the hull and all other fittings combined but thats just a guess). Using armor rigs on a frig is a big no-no imo as it really gimps your speed.
Also, wrong forum for this topic. You should try S&M.

I did check the tracking at speed and it can keep up at that range. I will test it out.
I think I can fit it with T1/T2 mwd, so will switch to that (lol EFT warrior here)

True the tracking should be fine for cruisers but not frigs or drones. I realize you are setting up for cruisers but keep in mind that we cant always choose our fights. At some point you will have to deal with things that are small and fast and it's best to be prepared for that imo.
I have a nice rail ishkur in eft and I'll post it here for you when I get home from work. It works well in a variety of situations including dealing with close range cruisers.
Good luck.

How about the following problems:
Target notices it can't hit you and de-agresses and docks/jumps.
Target already knows it can't hit you and doesn't even bother to agress unless you come within its kill radius (scram/web/neut range) ____

Edited by: Don Pellegrino on 22/12/2009 18:29:44 I kill cruisers in my Ishkur, but I go close have to manually orbit them close enough that their guns can't track.
The problem with your railguns idea is that you can pretty much only kill blaster ships, the other weapon systems can hit you with longer range ammo and sometimes even catch up on you and absolutly annihilate you.
Closer is safer.

I've had a fair of success with my wannabe interceptor Ishkur fit, which seems similar to what you're going for:
The Ishkurceptor HIGH: 3x 125mm Railgun II (FN Iridium Charge S) MID: Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcject Thrusters Warp Disruptor II Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor LOW: Damage Control II Small Armor Repairer II / Armor Explosive Hardener II Capacitor Power Relay II RIG: 2x Small Capacitor Control Circuit I DRONE: 9x Warrior II
With decent gunnery skills Iridium will track frig-sized targets at 20kms, though the drones do the majority of the damage, of course. TD prevents effective return fire (use tracking disruption for anything except frigs and dessies, optimal on those).
It's not very agile so you still need to be quick on overheating the point and/or manually piloting to keep fast targets from breaking away from you and getting away.
Also it works much, much better with implants. Specifically MY-1, AY-1, CC4, GY-1.

Yeah, good points but I dont plan to use this at gates/stations and have a 24km point on. Also, I plan on choosing targets and agressing them. ---------------------- They're angry there was damage done to their ship. It's not difficult! |

rail ishkur fails
Highs
3x light ion blaster II 1x Nos (best named)
mids ScramII WebII 1mn AB II
Lows
DCU II N-Type Reactive Membrane thingy (the blue one) Small armour repper II
Rigs 2x Small CCC
Drones All hobgoblin II
Perma run's everything! puts out plenty of DPS orbits too fast for cruiser guns to hit you armour repper perma runs so you can tank any drones and also just kill the drones withyour blasters if they are causing that much bother.
Basically find target scram and web it turn everything on orbit at 500 go make cup of tea, come back and you have won!
best Ishkur setup i've flown. and if you are reading this you have reached the signature without noticing. |

When going up against turret ships that are a larger class than your own ship (frig vs. cruiser, cruiser vs. BC, etc), it is ALWAYS best to orbit as close as possible to keep their guns from tracking you. This is one of the few realms where blaster ships excel.
Of course you have to be picky about your engagements. Be weary of ships such as the rupture that have a utility high slot that is often devoted to neuts.
