If i was an alt or RL friend of LC i would spend all my time blowing up tards like you, after collecting the ransom of course. Btw thank you for the free publicity. Never thought my corp would actually make the forums

Eh, my corp and I sometimes honour ransoms, sometimes not. Alot depends on the type of day we've had and the person we're dealing with.
I'm not particulary for or against honouring ransoms, I know the argument on both sides. I do know that we've never dishonoured a singing ransom though, some things are sacred to us, though just about everything else isn't (scams/corp infiltration/dishonouring ransoms/dishonoured 1v1s - though at least unless we expect a substancial financial gain we don't dishonour those [faction ships I'm looking at you!]).
We play the game for fun and some of us don't enjoy missioning, mining, ratting. So since we're not one of those regions with thousands of different people running through constantly, we do sc**** the bottom of the barrel for additional cash.
That said, Sareth Servil will never dishonour ransoms cause he doesn't think that's right! Good on him.

Originally by: Greygal I've only been playing Eve for about 7 months, and sure, I've made a lot of newbie mistakes... a lot! - but I never thought paying ransom was a mistake before. I've been caught by pirates six times and every time I've been offered a ransom to pay in order to release my ship (or in one case, not destroy my pod). Each time I paid, and each time, the ransom was honored, I went on my tail-tucked, sheepish way, limping to safety.
Until today. Make a really stupid and silly long story short: I was web scrammed by Lord Carvin of [ID10T], he got into my hull, and then he offered me a $25 million isk ransom.
I withdrew my drones, I shut down my turrets, and I paid the $25 million isk ransom.
He stopped firing for a bit, but he didn't release the warp scram. I could not get away. He started firing on me again, and destroyed my Myrm. Spamming the warp-to-zero button, I did get my pod to safety.
Look, I know Lord Carvin is a pirate, and a very experienced player. I know pirating is part of Eve, and despite the annoyance of it all, I don't really mind it that much - it does add a bit of flair and excitement to the game! I expect pirates to gank, can flip, and generally wreak havoc on the universe. That's expected.
What's not expected is a pirate, especially one of several years experience like Lord Carvin, to have no honor. From everything I've read and heard and learned in my short time in Eve, destroying a player's ship after they've paid the ransom is not honorable pirate behavior. Yes, I know it sounds crazy, but I do expect pirates to have a certain amount of honor, even though they are pirates! Even in the crazy sandbox of Eve, there are some few givens, some few unwritten "rules" ... ya, I'm probably insane...
Anyway, I guess paying 7 ransoms and having 6 of them honored is really not bad, statistically, but I will very much hesitate to pay a ransom to any pirate again in the future.
Okay, I'm done whining/venting :)
Greygal
Even if he has "years or experience" (aka SP) he is still pretty much a noob :)
When I post a ransom and it is paied, I honor it, its simply a method for me to make isk, and I ruin it for myself in the long run by not honoring it.
Thats the mistake noob like Lord C make. But he might just be a "weekend pirate" in low sec for PVP action and a carebear other times for all I know.
Tho, I do not always post a ransom, depends on the situation. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only bitter person in this thread is you. I was not directing that at you at all. But I'm sure Sylph will be a great place for you, If anyone is a loser it's them.
Alliance Information Summary Sylph Alliance 88 kills, 239 losses, and -2181 points
If you want attention, I'll give you some. PS: I've never died to you.
http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/combat_record.php?type=player&name=Jenny+Twotone
Looks like you'll fit right into Sylph. There are 14 day old Rifter pilots with more battleclinic points than you. 63 kills for a pilot your age, and a mere 369 points. 369 points spread over 63 kills means most of your kills are ganks/blob kills. (82 kills on eve-kill.net but not exactly a stunning improvement)
Your only "good fight" solo kills consist of you killing a Crow in a Taranis (I've done that 63 times, and 23 times in an Incursus) killing a sentinel in a taranis, which is probably the only good kill you have and killing a mission running Drake in an Ishtar.
I guess dishonoring ransoms works out to be the more profitable action when you rarely kill anyone at all.
Leave the whole forum trolling and being good at the game thing to me hun, you've got a loooong way to go before you catch up to a real women like me. ---

You know it kind of gets tiresome and two dimensional to have someone forever loitering around every corner who obviously takes this game way too seriously in a very unhealthy way.
If you so desperately need a cross to bear I highly suggest you take up actual real life humanitarian work, rather than incessantly belittle video game subscribers with moral profundities. It would certainly behoove you to spend so much energy on something that actually matters.

I think it's cute that Sylph think we fit cloaks to Thrashers and Taranis', they still haven't figured out how to use the directional scanner yet. The only ship I've fit a cloak to in the past 6 months that isn 't a dedicated ship (Bomber/Recon etc.) was a single Stabber. But feel free to look at my losses and tell me where the cloaks are fitted.

I've never ransomed anyone. I've never flipped a can, or really engaged in any act of piracy, as you accuse me of.

Simple solution:
Pay no ransoms until pirates start seriously cracking down on the clowns that dishonor them (ie, ruining pirates' business).
Ransom breakers should be ousted, not lauded as some do even in this thread.
