We are shaking in our 42 US prime timed stations!
What have your fleet numbers been like recently, and had you noticed how IT hoovered up vast numbers of corps that have a significant presence in both the US time zones?
No? Don't worry I'm sure you'll catch on soon enough.

I, too, am unaware of timezones and their effect on gameplay
If that's the best you got then you clearly didn't want that system anyway. Most of our pilots were EU tz.

Shamis called the actual jump-in for PL but everyone was informed beforehand on exactly what was going on, at least for titan pilots. The people who jumped knew the risks and did it anyway (even me), so I guess that spreads the responsibility of stupidity a little.
It was nice of Shamis to call for the jump in as he sat in his pimped out hound worth 30 mill....

Changing BoB from the bloated, elitist, deluded, bucket of fail that came up with "MAX" into the ferociously motivated, with the biggest active player base and time zone coverage in eve :priceless:
Oh, and no ones coming to save you. It's very much in the NC's best interests to sit and watch querious, delve & period basis burn and let IT get back to in-fighting that will inevitably follow a string of successes; as the "old guard" lament the inclusion of all the "nublets" that actually made the success possible.
Protip: trit prices are very low at the moment, probably better with scord than veld as pyr is in high demand right now. HTH

The amount of objects that need to be tracked, there movement, there module's and how they effect other objects is an enormous task.
What you are talking about is scaling. Its OK that it maxes out somewhere. Thats expected. However, how can you design a system that, when overloaded, still processes data from certain objects, but stops processing data from others? AND those objects are of equal significance. Fairness is fundamental to any distributed computing system. If they can't get that right, they must not be employing anyone with a background in distributed computing. Or the bean counters have too much power and CCP is stuck focusing on decorations. _________ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

From what i heard from ccp, their art and decoration/game design department has nothing to do with QA team, which is focused to bring us smoother gaming experience. Its clearly the game designers made a huge mistake completely removing good old doomsday devices, also they added a new sov mechanic, encouraging more people to blob their home and attacked system. The current state of 0.0 is all about to blob and load the grid b4 their opponent, preventing them to properly load the grid and game itself. Old doomsday devices was the only 100% effective anti-blob weapon, but thanks to pl/goon/nc they abused it too much in 49-. In old eve the fc would think twice before jumping in with 100+bs in to the same node/gate, same goes for defenders (if they are not covered by cyno jam ofc). Was it overpowered? No it was not, just look at 2009 year titan kills, majority of dead titans were trying to DDD some serious pack of people in hope of getting advantage for their fleet. With a removal of such unique weapon and tactical tool, people will start to blob on titans in near feature and there is no way to stop this until ccp fixes easy isk income (aka moonmine). I really want to know why ccp could not make DDD a non-stack weapon, limiting it to only 2 DDD at the given amount of time. It was blob online before that patch, but at least we had something to counter these blobs. Go fly your bombers boys, i hope you enjoy it.

THIS. Totally changed the way blob warfare plays out now. There are no more field clearing weapons anymore except for bombs, which have shown limited utility so far. In the past it was all about having a DDD proof battleship and hoping the enemy didn't stack doomsdays on you, and spreading you fleet across multiple grids to keep from getting wiped all at once. Now subcapital fleets blob with no worries about having too many ships on a grid because it can't be cleared anymore.
tl;dr
No field clearing weapon = more ships on grid = more lagtastic voyages

Exactly, adapt! Now that pretty much every fight is decided by sheer numbers, I propose we all merge into 4-5 mega alliances, each having the possibility to put 1000+ ships on the field at any given time and fight it out (or just sit there until the other party eventually gives up). I can't even imagine the fun of it all.
Of course independent alliances and corporations that want to play on a smaller scale will be blobbed into oblivion, so those jerks will ultimately (and finally) be forced to play in empire or find another game (and good riddance too, who cares about the majority of 0.0 inhabitants anyway).
And I guess that's exactly what CCP wanted with Dominion - more people in empire living happily and mining veldspar in numbers we haven't even dreamed of. Oh, wait, I think I can do something quite similar on Facebook!

Why would i hate you? Its a game, chill.
Im just pointing out the fact that as long as the servers act this way you took a chance and it backfired. CCP had already stated that they are looking into it. Hence the outcome is your own fault. Sov dropped sov we tried to grab station, you would do the same.

Edited by: Pristine Nippletub on 09/01/2010 03:57:30 As much as I love griping about CCP like the rest of you.. it isn't like you pay for expansions. You pay for the monthly fee only, yet they still release new expansions, new ships, and new game mechanics so that we can have fun. With that, you have to realize when they make an expansion it takes a few revisions before all the bugs are out. Personally I think it adds flavor to the game, and the community. We get to listen to each other gripe, and bash on other peoples gripes even though ours may be equally or more stupid. Great stuff all around.
I'd ask if all of you pansies and space que*rs want some cheese with your whine, but it has been said, and frankly cheese is expensive so you can get your own.
edit: Also, does anyone have a pair of long johns for sale? It is f*ckin' cold here.
To CCP, please keep releasing these awesome expansions; it puts the sunshine in my day when I get to log on and read all of the misinformation, and *****ing on your forums. Long Live EVE

Titan mechanics sucked. I see what your saying, but titans were not the answer to blobs. CCP needs to come up with a non-hack way of preventing blobbage, titans ruined fun for many many people over the time they existed with DDs. Countless would be "good fights" were taken away from the playerbase and I personally feel it sucked and I was on the side that "won plenty of times from a titan DD.

There are times, however, and this is one of them, when even being right feels wrong. What do you say, for instance, about a generation of newbies that has been taught that sov is everything and losing space is death? If losing a ship might be fatal and if a roam to HED on any summer afternoon can turn a minor welp into a failure cascade right in front of your eyes, there is not much left except TV and relentless ************. It's a strange game. Some directors get rich off moons and the rest of us eat **** and die. Who knows? If there is in fact, a heaven and a hell, all we know for sure is that hell will be a viciously overcrowded version of Providence ù a clean well lit place full of sunshine and blues and untouchable ratting ravens where almost everybody seems vaguely happy, except those who know in their hearts what is missing... And being driven slowly and quietly into the kind of terminal craziness that comes with finally understanding that the one thing you want is not there. Missing. Back-ordered. No tengo. Vaya con dios. Grow up! Small is better. Let's get back to Syndicate...
