Sometimes the 24 hours permitted in the training queue is not enough - specially over the holiday season when you've got a lvl 5 going but you won't be back in time to set a new skill to train when it completes.
Can we maybe get a new skill under Learning which would increase the training queue length? i.e. each level of training of this skill would allow an additional 6 hours or sometihng similar (% even) on the training queue?
This would be one skill that would make a lot of sense for a lot of people I think - plus having a skill to train to do this means it's something a bit more substantial (depending on the pre-reqs) than the devs simply making a change to the game. |

No, I like you actually have to log on. And I put Advanced Weapons Upgrade L5 in my que before J=l and the holidays.
Just learn to use the que...problem solved.

Notice how you present a problem:
Originally by: Vladmir Skef Sometimes the 24 hours permitted in the training queue is not enough - specially over the holiday season when you've got a lvl 5 going but you won't be back in time to set a new skill to train when it completes.
And then a 'solution' which doesn't address the problem:
Originally by: Vladmir Skef each level of training of this skill would allow an additional 6 hours or sometihng similar (% even) on the training queue?
If you're on holiday and your longest level V skill (30+ days for most people) isn't long enough, that extra 30 hours of queue isn't gonna matter much, is it?

No. 24h solves just about every problem with skill switching there is. For your particular problem, I would suggest training another skill that covers the time when you'll be away. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Seems 'easy way out' is the flavour of the month vis a vis skill training this fine morn.

Not at all. Just a simple fact that the current skill Q is pretty much perfect. It keeps the players happy, accomplishes CCP's goals, and makes it fairly easy to make sure you always have a skill in training.
Move along. These aren't the changes you're looking for. /me waves hand.

I was agreeing with you, not the OP, your reading comprehension utterly fails... 'tis to be expected I suppose, when even the brighter amongst us are dullards these days. Still, in the kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is king... Congratulations, I guess?

Not long ago there wasn't a queue at all...
Also most people have at least one long skill they ultimately want to train but have other things in the meantime they want instead, so there is nothing stopping them just adding that on the end of their skill queue while they are away on holiday or whatever.

Since you confirmed this I reread your post again.
It can be read either way. Since the other posters were saying "No, don't do any coding to change anything", the "easy way out" could easily apply to those posters. They are taking the "easy way out", as in, CCP not changing anything.
In fact, "easy way out" wouldn't strictly apply to disagreeing with the OP. He's not looking for a "way out" of anything, he's just looking for things to be easier, and not even by requesting an extension too terribly long (1 day, 6 hours max). So, he's actually looking for a "way in" to something, that is, a longer skill Q.
Conclusion: The terminology in your sentence applies much more to the posters saying No to the OP. Reading comprehension fine.
So please, read your own post before you berate me for misunderstanding it.

I think there could be a holiday sollution for skillqueuing, but it should be a paid service. You could start training skills through the webbrowser, but everytime you use this service, you will have to pay a fee of 5-10 dollars. This way you can skill stuff while you're somewhere where you can't install eve, and couldnt skill something prehand that is 30 days long.

The solution is called USB stick + internet cafe. If that isn't an option then you will have to live with the fact that you won't be able to skill your eve character when you are 5 months in the Amazonas.

I think that if you know you are going to be away and your current skill will not cover the time your gone, replace it with another skill. You don't loose SP or training time on the partially completed skill.
When you get back finish the new skill or throw the other one "back on the barbe" and let it finish.
If you just need to extend it another 23 hours, you can put skills in front of your current skills that are under a day.

The last thing EVE needs is to increase the learning time sink.
I never leave my skill queue going without something queued to cover a good period of time. In the situation you described, use EVEmon and plan. Is it too hard to kick the level 5 skill off as you go away on holiday? Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona and not that of a real life politician. Navigator |

We were lucky to get the skill queue at all from what I am told...CCP never wanted to put it in, but did after so many people bought up the subject of getting up at 3AM and other random times of the day to check/change training.
24hrs works for me, if you go away for an extended period of time, set up a sufficient skill.

Fine as it is. Cant really come up with a reason to make it more that would not sound trivial. 24 hours got rid of the waking up and setting skill being at work thing. So anything extra rally is just being a spoiled brat.
