Let me start by saying that I love this game but there are a few game mechanics that are just archaic and do not contribute to the fun of the game. (I couldn't find a suggestions forum)
1- Add "Loot All" button for wrecks and add a loot timer of 5-10 secs (possibly tie a skill to it). Add a chance for incoming damage to delay the looting process (Again this chance can be lowered with a skill)
2- Add another insurance option (possibly more expensive) that insures your ship (titans and capital ships are excluded) and your fitting, if you get podded while being covered with this insurance, you get your ship back with the fitting that it was destroyed with. (At a station where such a service is available)
If these changes are implemented, I guarantee you that PVP will be much easier to get into for new players.

I'm quite sorry to drill this idea down the drain (very good idea anyway) but it wouldnt probably wouldnt help pvp and the industrialists as well.
right now you got the unofficial rule that you shouldnt fly ships you cant afford to lose: if you fly a zealot worth 300m and you only have 100m left yourself, dont fly the zealot since you cant replace it. your idea would throw this outta the window in a "screw the game I got moneh" fashion.
secondly, right now if a t2 laser gets lost in a pvp engagement, its gone. your suggestion would make it so that it isn't gone, thus leading to a oversupply which eventually crashes the market and sends the industrialists off whining about the feature.
so, even being a good idea I don't think it'd help anyone, not even new players that have to learn the "dont fly what you cant afford to lose" rule cheers, Faros

The second part is just horse****. Removing all loss from the game would make PVP much easier to get into for new players too, but as your suggestion it doesn't belong in this game. You are supposed to suffer losses and items need to dissappear from the game or there is no point in producing more.
Even if you wanted to implement it, how would you put a value on your lolinsurance? You can't put a standard price, since we have a player driven economy, so the prices are determined by the players. I don't really want to hear an answer, since it would ruin the current game.

loot all is not that bad - like it
at the moment try: ctrl+a (select all) and drag&drop it to your cargo nice idea: shortcut to loot all

I agree that there are some mechanics that repel people away, but I might not understand your proposition completely.
You ask for a tool that travels from wreck to wreck and loots items within, or for a "key" that loots the container you're in range of? This last one I agree with. The first one is too much for me, to the point that stupidizes looting a bit. Again, it's true that having to double click open, and drag items from space cans is stupid. I like the second idea, since I myself don't PVP because of the costs of it, and the impact of ship loss, but in my opinion that possibility would work only when limited to T1!
whaddaya think?

First options sounds ok. The second is not thought out at all.
First of all you have insurance for T1 ships. Second if you gang up with 5 to 10 people and all you fly is T1 cursers 1 hour of ratting or mission running gets you a whole new ship.
What makes eve unique is the risk factor and risk vs reword behaviour. Remove this and its just like any other MMO only without Orks or swat teams.

Both are very good ideas, specially the second one. People who see things in black and white would say that the second change would make death meaningless. But you still lose your ships, modules and possible your implants and insurance (as it is now) does not cover you 100% so you will still lose money and not to mention the time to get together a new ship.
So great idea but unfourtunately it will not be implemented because this game seems to have gathered alot of so called hardcore PvPers who wants PvP to hurt, and hurt bad. Also the economy depends on you grinding for ISK and buying ships and modules, making changes to that cycle may break down the economy. However I think it would make the game more fun.

Honestly Nr. 2 is a nice Idea, but it will not work in Eve. If the WoW-Players just want to spawn back at the graveyard with all their stuff, sorry then they have to play WoW.
The "loot-all" button though would be highly appreciated :D. regards --------------------------------------- Sometimes it pays to stay in bed in Monday, rather than spending the rest of the week debugging Monday's code. ~Dan Salomon |

You pay for insurance so you have to pay to get back all your stuff.
That will probably not work as Eves economy is dependant on people losing ships/modules but having an insurance option that gives you a % of your modules in ISK would be awesome.
There is something inbetween the zero death penalty of WoW and Eves massive death penalty. Everything isnt black and white.
