Ok so last week I started playing Eve, got into a nice little corp and settled into my comfy pilot chair and bam! My hard drive days, so I'm stuck using a 4Gig USB stick with Ubuntu Linux on it. However I do not have enough room for Eve, but no worries Seagate warranty sent me a new hard drive which will be here anytime today.
In the days I have waited I've spent my time reading all the game info I can from Evecyclopedia, guides and forum boards. All while listening to Eve Radio. I can't wait to get in and jump in my first cruiser because when things went south I was training Cruisers I. ! o `|` / \
Exequror if your wondering.
Any suggestions for this noob to know?

Since you're in a corp and reading the forums you'll do just fine.

Edited by: Dresorn on 14/01/2010 00:03:55 Ok what button is to tease me, and once I get my new hard drive I'm going to edit the sauce picture to be on it's side spilling out. I have no more room for Gimp on this USB stick I'm using for a harddrive.
BTW, I can't remember where to go to set the picture!!! NVM Noob found it...

Reading this I wanted to reply to yell at you for being new and impatient. Then I hit the second paragraph.

The first few weeks/months are the best, savour them. You'll never get that feeling of magic and wonder back again. Sure, the game is still good (why else do we still play) but yeah, those first few weeks.... |

This.
Then when you really get into the game, it gets so confusing you often undock just to find a completely unfair fight just to remind yourself you're playing a game.
Then you run out of isk. Always insure...

1. NEVER use the Autopilot. Never, never never. Always warp-to-zero. 2. Never fleet with anybody you don't know. 3. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. 4. When someone invades your mission space and starts stealing loot from your wrecks, hit the trigger ship to agro the mission rats and jump out. Don't attack the thief looting your wrecks - he's bait. Wait 10-15 minutes, go back to your mission. (Maybe you'll get lucky and find the wreck of the looter...) 5. Always have a full skill training queue. 6. Watch local for trouble. 7. Insurance. It is worth it. 8. Have Fun :)

4b. When someone invades your mission space and starts stealing loot, right-klick a wreck and release all the wrecks in the mission space to be free loot. It really ****es them off.

Why would this **** them off? I often do this when I'm done with a mission and can't be bothered to salvage and loot, so in case anyone finds my wrecks, they can have them.

1. don't fly what you can't afford to lose
2. always insure your ships
Everything else is just fluff.

1. Always update your clone. =)
2. If you're not sure what to buy, buy skills. Ships get destroyed. Skills are forever. (See #1.)
3. Make friends, and join a corp. See someone ratting next to you? Try talking to them. Someone mining in the same belt? See if you guys can team up. You never know who you'll run into, and making friends and teaming up with people is the best, fastest way to advance in this game.
Good luck!
