Hey guys,
I'm currently training up for a sabre, and was curious as to whether these ships are actually worth it.
I currently fly an Onyx, although an amazing ship, it lack the DPS that can make or break a camp attempt (specifically wormholes).
Obviously the heavy inty flown more like a drake than lets say....a taranis, so how would you fly the sabre?
Pop the bubbles, gtfo?
or pop bubbles, and use the ship for some DPS + bumping/web support?
also, any particular loadouts that are prefered, or just go for battleclinic ones and modify to suit my tastes?

For small gangs, Sabre with bubble and 7 autocannons, single MSE buffer. Kill stuff.
For larger gangs (and larger engagements), double bubble, cloak, dual MSE buffer. Bubble the crap out of everything and stay alive.

For big fleet stuff, not it's not worth it. You will pop a couple of bubbles then die in a fire.
For smaller gang or even solo, it is far better than any other dictor, because it has more speed, DPS and even a little tank, and it can effectively tackle while doing those things. They are great fun to fly and definitely worth the price premium.
ofc you can expect to lose a few while learning to fly a ship with five times the speed and 10% of the EHP of your drake.
From memory, you can fit it something like this for general purpose dictoring:
Bubble blower, 7x 200mm AC II / RF EMP / Barrage 1MN MWD, Warp Disruptor II, Stasis Web II, MSE II 2x nanofibre II 2x Core Defence Field Extenders.
By all means play around with the fit; dropping the point for dual MSE IIs is popular. Changing to 6x 150mm ACs and fitting a cloak for surprise bubbles is too. The Sabre is fairly versatile and adaptable.
In terms of actually shooting stuff with it, it's basically a Super-RifterÖ. You could maybe buy & fit 10 Rifters for the price of a Sabre. Go fight stuff with those till you have lost all 10, and you will have a decent idea of what your Sabre can and cant do vs your Drake.

Only tards drop point for dual MSE. Web+bubble is insufficient tackle - more often than not your target will just burn out of bubble (or just counter web you and make you a new one). Disruptor + bubble lets you keep targets tackled for far longer. Ofc thats for fleet uses. For solo/ceptor hunting/hauling disruption scram+bubble (pull bubble, scram for disabling MWD and tackle).
Rest of your post is spot on tho.

Well, it's the dictor or the fleet I'm fine with it being the dictor
