This topic is for people who are selling characters. It is meant to be more customer friendly, and it's not in the rules.
Before selling your character or characters please do this:
- Remove all your evemails - Remove all your bio's - Remove all your Buddies - Remove all your Agent's - Delete all your bookmarks - Delete all your Medals - Delete Notes in the Notepad - Reset all standings (Likes & Dislikes) - Take down your contracts - Take down your Market Sell Orders - Take down your Market Buy Orders - If possible, Destroy JumpClones - Trash Ibis's, Impairor's, 1 Tritanium's, Civilian stuff
*That takes me way too much time, it is trash anyway.* Often in Evemails and Notes you have personal stuff written. Like, 'sorry to hear your grandpa died'. Or, 'Jim cheated on his wife with Janet!'. The new owners are not interested in that. Unless they're sociopath's and harass the people who cheat in relationships.
*The new owner can do all that* Thank you for the Free ISK via the Contracts and Market orders, you just sold a 80 mil Raven in Jita!
*The bookmarks don't go anywhere anyways* Thank you for the anchored Giant Container in Motsu. Oh, what is the password? Never mind, I see it in Notes. Thanks for the Faction Ammunition!
*Those standings shouldn't be such a problem* Dude! You destroyed my Tengu, I'm blue to you! Tengu, you were red on my overview! Oh, this new bought character doesn't like your corporation...
And so on and on... |

Moved to Market Discussion.
May I recommend looking into adding this to the EVElopedia as a suggestion for Character transfer? Some people won't think about all of these issues before selling or buying and may regret it later.

One more "to do" that does come to mind is: if you have the required Standings, don't forget to run those once-only COSMOS missions that give you valuable rewards.

You forgot the most important one:
- Transfer the ISK you just received from the buyer to one of your other characters.
Saves you from begging for it once the transfer went thru

Why hello and welcome to "Ji Sama As The Village Bicycle Club". The first rule of the JSATVBC is that you don't talk about the JVSATVBC. The second rule of the JSATVBC is that you DON"T talk about the JSATVBC. If this is your first time at the JSATVBC, then you MUST ride the bicycle. Titan BPC Auction Thread |

Edited by: RAW23 on 22/01/2010 12:43:24 You might want to add:
Cancel all your manufacturing/research jobs.
I bought an industrial toon a while back that had an undelivered job deep, deep in 0.0 where it had remained undelivered since June 2007. Until I get round to putting the significant effort in to going there to cancel it, I'm one slot down on my maximum. Sadly, the BPO is only for t1 ammo .
It might even be worth CCP insisting on this as you could easily grief a buyer by locking up ALL manufacturing and research slots in this way. |

Why destroy the jump clones? And why trash Ibis's? I agree with the rest, but don't understand the reasoning between these two, unless you just don't want the buyer to know your locations of interest?

I tried to raise this previously, but it seems my post and the post that was above it have become lost without an explanation.
Which is fine, because I think that what I was trying to hint at previously is important enough to bring to attention again.
My concern is that if Market Buy Orders remain after character transfer is complete that this allows the potential construct of a siphon to remove ISK from the wallet of the character that has been sold once under new ownership. I don't know if this will actually work or will work this way, because this is just a theory.
It goes like this:
Prior to the sale taking place the character seller will setup a Market Buy Order (or orders, plural) - use of the skill Margin Trading means the whole sum of ISK needed to make the purchase doesn't have to be fronted to place the order - only some of it. The order could go up in a remote locale where it isn't likely to be filled in the interim by anyone else and even be at a premium over what the item required is worth for maximum effect. The character seller then transfers the character with the order/orders active on it to the new owner. Then they attempt to fill the buy order under the assumption the owner has transferred ISK to the wallet of their new skin. The new owner, not having checked and cancelled any buy orders gets a nasty surprise when they wonder where their ISK has gone and then see that they've bought something without their knowledge or - arguably - consent.
Considering orders can last for three months, the character seller could have up to the full three months in which to pull this stunt off - depending on how aware the character buyer is of their settings.

Yes, I suggest to change that to "MOVE your jump clones to high sec (low sec if bad security status)". Jump clones and potential implants add to the value of the character you are selling".

Ostrich, Hippo & Jesus on Grass is a comic drawn entirely in crayon. The ostrich is blue. The hippo is pink. And Jesus is green. Occasionally, a monkey makes an appearance. He is brown. There is a Native American, who is orange, mostly. And, oh yes, Protestant reformer Martin Luther also shows up. He's what you might call gray.
ImageThese fellows stand around on the titular grass and make wisecracks. It can be very funny:
Hippo: "Ostrich, me thinks you need to admit you has a problem."
Ostrich: "What are it, hippo? Does these ******* no longer please?"
Later, Jesus shows up dragging his big wooden cross. Ostrich wants to know "Why is you giving a piggyback ride to a lowercase 't' and not a capital one?"
The deadpan and often gross exchanges sometimes click, and sometimes don't. Sometimes a non sequitur is truly a non sequitur. Then, too, there is some racial humor that some will find edgy, but others will likely find just plain racist. In any case, the comic has a giddy, anything-goes, Theater-of-the-Absurd feel that's good for some laughs. The sophomoric humor should appeal to fans of Ralph Snart Adventures,
The Tick, Milk and Cheese and so on.
And in the end, the fact that this thing is drawn entirely with about ten crayons makes it an oddly compelling achievement.
