Maybe you should get out of empire more.
post dominion, u can clear a "heaven" anomaly in 45 minutes (with proper ship and fittings, solo) thats 30mil in bounties, not counting if you get a faction spawn. thats 40mil/hour with minimal effort. 5X40milX30days = 6 bil. So OP is actually 5 bil short.
edit: Also, faction spawns gives you an extra 100mil or so, per spawn. |

I'm just answering to this guy skepticism. If OP made 1 bil out of potentially 5-6bil, to me its totally plausible. |

I would do 1-2 0.0 anomalies (each rat faction has additional BS anomalies in null sec) an evening and average a faction spawn every other night.
Also, you get about twice what you get in bounty's in salvage. Before I had my alt I would re-ship and salvage them. A single 0.0 high end anomaly can yield roughly 50 mil in salvage. I trained salvage to 3 when I was doing Plexes with my corp so I could get the officer spawns. By far salvaging was the biggest money maker and yielded more ISK per hour than actually farming the bountys.
What made the game really fun was trying to sneak an industrial ship through null sec to take the items to better markets. Watching intel as I would hop through systems.
I've lost a total of 3 packed (10km3+) industrial ships worth of salvage/loot so far.
This alone made the game great for me. My alt is learning transport ships right now and I wanna eventually get him into jump freighters.
To clear one which would be anywhere from 5 to 7 waves would take me two > three hours. In my Myrm before I had T2 drones, a single wave would take me an hour and a half. After training into T2 drones I was able to clear a wave in under 30 minutes. Until I had T2 drones, I spent a lot of time belt ratting and looking for faction spawns that way. It was more profitable per hour because I didn't need as much tank and could breeze through them quickly.

I love the Sanctums... specially when they spawn a faction NPC.
If you're doing drones now, keep going for an passive tanked Ishtar. Then sit out at 100km with x5 sentry II's Removed. Please keep your EVE signature related to your EVE persona and not that of a real life politician. Navigator |

Right now I'm playing catch up. I'm missing a lot of core skills that make me effective in a Domi. I can't even equip more than 3 350MM rails right now so I need a few engineering/gunnery skills. Right now I've got Engineering V in the queue (20 hours left) with Weapons upgrades V right after.
Since I didn't do normal ship progression as anyone else did and specialized into Battlecruisers, I skipped a lot of the "core" skills. I did get all my learning skills to at least four, including charisma skills as they gave me a couple extra points to use in a re-map.
My ship plan is something like this:
Cruisers> Vexor BC's > Myrm BS's > Both Mega and Domi depending on what I'm doing. Assult Ships > I want a good PVP ship, but this will be after I get some more navigation skills done. Heavy Assault Ships > Passive Ishkur FTW. T2 Battleships (Marauder)> I look forward to being able to fly Kronos someday for mission running. Carriers > I want a second wife...er... Nyx someday so I'll be training heavily in drones.
This plan, so that i am effective, finishes 214 days from now.
If I throw another point in Cybernetics I can shorten this by 6 days.

thing is that with trial account, you are shoting these 0.0 for hours. Guy played like 12hours a day,got boosted by numerous guildmates trought endgame content and got the money. It is not a problem. There is nothing hard on carebearing in 0.0 even solo. I dont see it threadworthy "corpmates gave me share from their money and i made bilion" u wont make that solo. And we are doing the same thing with with newbies in empire. You shoot, they salvage.
It is the same in mining coporations, when newbies haul ore for them, then split the ISK. The do not want to haul, newbies want o make isk. But it does not mean that newbie would mine the same in cruiser.
So you got boosted by your corp mates and maded a thread about it. Played 80 hours per week and maded some money in cruiser..Nice.

I agree with this guy. No way would you have been able to achieve what you have if you had gone it alone. Your corp has made you who you are. However, its good to see that there are great corps out there willing to take on new players. I'm fairly certain if you'd spend your first month in high-sec it wouldn't have been anywhere as near a thrilling experience.

Of course I got help, but isn't that what an MMO is about?
The title of the thread doesn't say solo. I also clearly state that I received help. My first point in the entire "story" says that I got a salvager fitted so I could salvage their wrecks.
It's a rule in my corp, any salvage is split amongst the members of the fleet. It's something I think more corps should take on as a general practice.
"There is nothing hard on carebearing in 0.0 even solo."
There is on an account who has very little mechanic skills, in a Myrm who (at the beginning) didn't understand spawn triggers. There is a challenge in doing it in a character on the 1 month mark with under 1.5 Mil SP.
I think the statement you should have made:
"There is nothing hard about Video Games or killing giant, predictable, unintelligent pixels."
But you can say that about a lot of MMO's.

Noobie of the year award to OP.
This is utterly fantastic. Way to have a good time and take best advantage of your early days.
tl;dr for everyone else:
1. Make friends. Join an established corp and see the galaxy. 2. Fly cheap ships and don't be afraid to lose them. OP got popped a ton of times and is still on top.

A nice positive story for a change, though I'd recommend buying a plex and selling it. I've noticed it's lot more relaxing and enjoyable to grind anomalys and stuff or PvP when you know you don't have to. Just play the game I've tanked to a like 100mil since I got the plex but now I'm back with 320mil from doing anomalys (and haven't even sold those rigs I made from the salvage from doing anomalys) in fleets of 3 or 5 'corpies' while waiting for red's. :P

I thought I would add this for comparison. Of course it's not what a new player gets but I'd consider it the baseline for not failing at missioning.
High Sec - Raven Navy Issue - Tech 2 Fit - Cruise w/ Sentry Drones Angel Extravaganza including bonus room 3m reward 30m bounty 7500 LP No looting or salvaging (!) Used 300K ISK in ammo 50 minutes run time 39m ISK @ 800 ISK/LP
The time could be better e.g. Torp CNR, HAM Tengu, Torp Golem, AC Machariel, Faction fit instead of T2 fit. The ISK/LP ratio could be better (1600 for Caldari Stuff is good). The mission itself is about 4/5th of the ISK per hour of some of the best ones (e.g. Pirate Invasion).
This is without loot or salvage. Run a few missions then grab the Tengu (40km tractors) and suck it all up before the 2 hour timer. Or grab it on the fly with Marauder.
No chance of faction spawn or officer loot. Risk factor of zero. Boredom factor high. Highsec is dull.

Great story mate and glad your having a good time in eve. I'm doin the same thing except out in catch and with a bit different setup. Anyways you mentioned a domi, heres the fit I'm using. Against sansha rats it tanks about 1000DPS perma as well as salvages and could effectively solo anoms, I bring a t2 maelstrom with it just to speed the process up :D
[Dominix, ratting domi]
Drone Link Augmentor I 2x Small Tractor Beam I 2x Salvager I Improved Cloaking Device II
5x Cap Recharger II
Damage Control II Armor EM Hardener II Armor Explosive Hardener II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II 2x Large Armor Repairer II
3x Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
5x Hobgoblin II 5x Ogre I 5x Hammerhead II 5x Curator I
The cloaking device can be t1 and of course you know to switch the hardeners for your rat. Total cost of the ship is roughly 100mil. I would highly suggest downloading EVEhq, its a legal third party program that does the same thing as EFT and EVEMON plus a ton of other things.

I found that an energized adaptive nano membrane > Damage control in PvE. Especially if you put a couple points into the <damage type> Armor Compensation skills. You can make a T2 adaptive nano membrane up ~25% across the board.
If your fit is for sansha, you don't need the kinetic or explosive hardners. Your fit is nice for lvl 4's though without refitting.
My Myrm fit (before Hull Upgrades V, Now I just use T2 Mods as they are cheaper) My domi fit is almost the same except I use two armor repairers and drop the afterburner. I use MED guns in my domi and let my drones do the work for me.: High 1x Drone Link Augmentor I 5X 250MM Prototype Gauss Gun Med 4x Cap Recharger II 1x Y-S8 Hydrocarbon Afterburners Low Coreli C-Type Adaptive Nano Plating (Or True Sansha/Imperial Navy Energized) 2x True Sansha Armor EM Hardener 2x True Sansha Armor Thermal Hardener 1x Accommodation Med Armor Repairer
This fit is win. Cap stable and can tank a LOT against Sansha. My other fits for the other faction rats are almost identical but I'd swap out Hardeners.

Thats just the fit for omni tanking, running against sansha im using 2x em 2x therm. The DCU is far superior to the EANM because you do have to realise you ARE in 0.0 pvp is gonna happen especially if your alliance is in any major wars even moreso if sovholding. the 60% resist across your hull can be a lifesaver in those situations where both pilots are closely matched. Also the reasoning behind the cloak.

That's a really good appraoch there, the one we all need in the game. One of the good things you did was going to 0.0 gst -> better rats, more salvage, etc. During my first month I doubt if I earned 100 mil, although I wasn't almost playing, just changing learning skills.
As to good money in 0.0... Making a haven in 45 mins is possible with drones only (heavy tech II damage specific for a target) + salvaging and looting at the same time. Havens are in fact better than sanctums, I cna easily hit 9m per 20 mins (as the money comes in every 20 minutes), but I do think that havens don't give as much as 30m. I guess they give around 25? And sanctums give 35. I'm talking about pure bounty. A sanctum is 1h - 1h15 mins depending on the spawns, havens almost always spawn the same for me. Plus loot - 10-15m, plus salvage - 20m easily (talking about haven again here).
That gives you, if you kill, loot, salvage alone -> 25+10+20 during 45 minutes, so 55m per 45 mins. I never got a faction spawn in a haven though... But counting like this, if you run anomally after anomally, you can easily earn 70m per hour? It in fact goes faster if you have more battleships. Then you should take a sanctum (bigger bounties), you can make an easy 100m per hour with a bit of luck and it's more exciting to see ships blow up every 1-2 seconds. The sanctum require a huge tank though, not something a noob can easily have, tech 2 hards, t2 reppers and t2 cap rechargers and ccc rigs for the 2 reppers to run perma (first spawn if hardest gives a nice beating). On the other hand you can just train for a tier 3 amarr bs that gets the 5% bonus resists and then you can just screw everything and be happy, right?
On a side note - I don't really have much time to run anomalies. The best investment one can make once he earned around 1.4b is invest in pos. That's where the isk comes from -> nothing like 1b isk a month for 30 mins of work spread across an entire month.
You, sir, deserve a medal for beeing able to earn so much isk during such a short period of time. Now take frigs and blow up stuff in 0.0.

Well done, thats a good spirit, you set goals you were creative and you got success.
Noobs must be creative and they can make huge amounts of money, even in highsec using the same tactic. There are other ways for noobs to make billions per month, but I wont tell because creative players will be rewarded when they find them.
This is why this game is the best, rewards creative people even if they only can fly t1 frigates.
