gratz fella.
its just a shame that youre getting flamed for showing "younger" pilots how you did in your first month.
this game was so different back when i was wide eyed and bushy tailed and tbh couldnt i make the sort of isk that you have been rewarded with.

On my first day of doing this, I made about 10 mil in bounty's. I didn't make much because I was normally a room behind my corp mates. However, the next day after the contracted salvage (oh, lol... I had to learn how to use a contract this night) to one of my corp officers, he took it to High sec and sold it all of depositing 65 million in my Wallet (GASP!!!).
Wow you made a billion without noticing that trials can't use contracts.
Nice troll-attempt, loser, but you can't fool us professionals.
Us professionals dont buy isk either!

Nicely done indeed! Reminds me somewhat of the guy who attempted to make a billion as Noob by doing trades only in Jita 4-4, without ever undocking. I think he succeeded also.

good read.
to the op, id highly consider the thorax over the vexor for everyday ratting... it depends on your gunnery skills though, i find the vexor severely lacking in dps.

When the Vexor was my primary ratting boat, I actually used the drones to tank belts. I'd sick them on the BS's before I had aggro and if they went pop... oh well, T1 drones were cheap :p.

This thread was bumped cause I linked it in the HTFU PVP thread :)
I've seen quite a bit since my first bil.
When I made this thread, I was amongst the many alliances who lived in providence and tried to learn the ropes there. Shortly after this thread, D-G was attacked and I was there in my first battleship, domi :). This was my first CTA and it was being advertised in EVE-Mail's and throughout the intel channels to meet up at a POS in a system near where I was. So, I joined the Conventionals fleet and ran over to the JB POS where there was an Avatar! I mean... At this point, I'm what... 2.5 months old and I'm in a CTA getting ready to titan bridge into a war surrounded by hundreds of other battleships. All of this build up was soon to be cut down after bridge'ing into D-G...
It was a mess and is still considered one of the largest slaugh... encounters in EVE history. The lag was atrocious, it took me over 5 minutes to lock a target and when I finally did get it locked, I couldn't launch my drones and got some weird error.
After about 20 minutes of fighting lag, not enemies... I decided to warp off grid and to a safe spot I had made then log out. I didn't enjoy this.
After this day, Providence's morale was shot. There was no good fight, there was no epic battle... The rest was just blob after blob of much more powerful enemies stomping all over providence for months on end. My alliance put up as much of a fight as we could handle. We weren't a massive capital alliance or a holder, but we fought for that space as if it were our own. A tip to people who hold space and have "pets", treat them with the respect they earn by shedding blood for your space and they'll stick around... I'm not going into that any further as it's above my pay grade... but yeah. When morale is low, find ways to raise it, not knock it down :)
Anyway... We moved out of provi and met up with some friends in Scalding Pass and held sov there for a couple months. We learned a LOT as an alliance about logistical networks, our capabilities as an alliance when a CTA is called and how quickly we can or if we even should respond during which times of the day... etc... to small roaming gangs. All kinds of cool things were learned out there.
then, not but a little bit ago, some friends of ours asked us to join them in their fight for sov and we will be fighting for sov and working from the ground up, in exchange for our experience with logistics, manufacturing how awesome this noob is.
And that's where I am now!
This guy is in Primary. however my main is not. I'm in Primary. cause I used to help them fuel POS's and their Jump Bridges :p... yeah, I've come a ways.

less than 6 months playing and I'm stuck on a Hurricane XD tho I can fly barges o.o
Honestly, if I read this before having 1.6kk SP bonus spent on a random skill-choosing frenzy, it would have saved me alot of time... now I can fit T2 equips on mah BC and I'm having a blast with it XD
Kudos for your story, may it be an advice to newbs that complaing about having to spend 1 year training stuff before they can play...

Couple things about this...
I hope they don't. And I hope this isn't the vision CCP has for EVE. I say this because... this is how I enjoyed EVE. Many others wouldn't have fun doing what I did. Many wouldn't appreciate the work I put in nor would they care to work and build an alliance.
As another guy in this thread mentioned, he did some low sec pirating and he made good money doing that. Another person took a noob ship and salvaged belts in null sec. They had fun doing it their way.
In my humble... noob opinion, I hope you guys don't try to mold a path for people to progress in this game and continue to leave it very open ended and... open beginning. Keep the tutorials challenging and cryptic. Word of mouth sells this game. I wish I could write them :).
In my opinion, the only path I'd set for people is to give them a newbie mission where they asked to explore into null/low sec space. The current perception of this space is very skewed by people who have grown to be afraid of it. People need to start losing ships that early so they can understand on how to replace them. I chose to go into null because it's what I wanted to do. Most people don't understand this aspect of the game when they first start, I just did my homework. This needs to be shown to a player early on when they can blow up tackle frigs left and right with little care in the world.
True story, 5 days into EVE I was held ransom inside a low sec station... I didn't know what to do. I jumped into a low sec system to get something I needed for my new catalyst that I got from a mission and there was a camp of baddies on the other side. Some quick thinking where I docked up, grabbed a noob ship and knew they were gonna kill it. So I used my pod to get back to high sec and go out.
This needs to be repeated some how for everyone.
Do your best to keep the game working and just keep adding to the tools for us to play with (Change the SOV mechanic so fleets are forced to spread out on a node)
The only thing I find wrong with the beginning of this game is that it pushes new players into some really bad corporations who are recruiting just to feed their high sec play style and taxes. I've found the high sec corps who my alliance recruits to be far more ignorant of this game than me where they have been around for years. Furthermore, I find them to be more corrupt than null sec corps (not the ones we recruit... the corps in high sec in general). The High sec ones tend to have an agenda for a self serving need where null sec corps tend to work as a group and do things together.
oh... Sig related...

Originally by: Natasha Ashatan The advantage you have had here is a fantastic corp by the sounds of it. I'd love to move into nullsec space, even though I'm barely 2mnths old. I did try, but being in New Zealand it is hard to find active corps in hi-sec, let alone nullsec. I've joined a number of corps on my main account but so many are scared rigid of lowsec, WH's, or nullsec. It is kinda sad, because the real money is out there in nullsec.
Sure you can make even more in highsec through trade or something, but its boring to hell.
Join "kiwiland" channel and I can point you in the right direction of some corp.

Nice thread to read as a noob Playing for less than two weeks and it gives me ideas in how I want to proceed. The best part of this game for me so far is the openness in choosing your path.

How many hours did you use?
Playing 24/7 for 44 day (14 days trial + 30 days ~= 1000 hours) you would need to make 1 mio every 1 hours, or around 24 mio a day. As long as you have friends doing high level PvE missions who are in need of someone to salvage, you can do 25 mio a day, with no problems, playing around 4 hours a day (maybe less).

Oh, this is my main / alliance / corp.
We definately don't disagree that players should pick EVE up and play it exactly the way they want it. My comment referred to you starting the game in a similar way I did, and you're enjoying the part of the game I spent so long enjoying (and still do). You took a difficult but very rewarding road and i commend you for it.
