This thread pointed out one title which is yet to be given:
The first pilot to be awarded all certificates in game.
It looks like that this title will not be given away anytime soon, and there is much opportunity to join the race.
To win this race, there are 110 Elite Certificates to train for, plus 4 lower certificates, a total of 352 Certificates to be awarded.
The present Champions according to eveboard.com are Sable Moran with a total of 275 Certificates, but "only" 40 Elite ones, and polvo zangado with 49 Elite Certificates out of a total of 267 Certificates already collected.
I myself? Well, nothing to speak of ... .
So, who is joining this race?

You cant really call it a race as you can't really "pass" anyone up. Not to mention the adding of skills. Worthless thread/topic.

Edited by: Sumelar on 24/01/2010 22:19:18 Getting *all* of them is probably impossible, even if they didn't add anymore it would take too long to get the required stuff to 5.
I've been thinking about getting all the basic ones though, just for kicks. Then work on the next levels up, and so on.
And Alice, if it's so worthless how about just hitting the back button next time so the rest of us don't have to read your worthless comments?

Not impossible but will take another 3-4 years until it can happen granted no new certificates are introduced.

that is assuming everyone with a lot of certs is currently only training for more certs. and/or has optimal attributes.

Alice Silversong said ôYou cant really call it a race as you can't really "pass" anyone up.ö Sure you can I am soon going to jump from 16th place to around about 5th place. I can see a lot of movement in the ranking of who has the most certs over the next 4 years. I look to be far behind polvo zangado but once I finish Fleet command I get 6 Elite certs then I only need to train the easy T2 small weapons and I am right behind polvo zangado if not ahead.
I am sort of in the race but I am not remapping to train as fast as possible and I sometimes take a little time out doing none cert skills. My aim is to get all Elite certs not to be the first person to do it.
As for whos is truely in the lead it is hard to tell and we wonÆt really know for a few years yet. For example polvo zangado who is in the lead has a lot of the easy to get certs. He has all the low rank skills which give certs like all the T2 small weapons. While others like me started with the harder certs like fleet command and still have all the easy certs to do.
What I am interested in, is how many people in the top 20 are in the race and how many just happen to be in the top 20 due to high SPÆs.

That is already nearly done.
If my list is correct, and with reference to eveboard, the races for the non-elite certificates are already or nearly finished:
Basic Certificates - total 78 -> already completed by 9 pilots Standard Certificates - total 110 -> race is led by Sable Moran with 108, followed by Robocopter with 101 Improved Certificates - total 55 -> race is led by Sable Moran wih 49, followed by Robocopter with 46

Haha, sounds like a fun race =). has anyone worked out how long it would take to get all the possible certificates to elite, starting from 0? Is it a completely ridiculous figure (ie 20plus years) or is it a reasonably achievable figure?

For me personally, i'm looking at approx 5 years of optimal training to get all certs. So its certainly an achievable goal, but not for the faint hearted
Tho my primary goals are all skills and then all skills to lvl 4 or above.

Well I have been playing about 6 years and I should have all Elite certs in another 4 years so 10years max. But a large amount of my SP are not cert skills and new players have double training, better implants and remapping. So less than 10 years, I would guess 7 or 8 years?
If you load up Eve mon and add all the Elite certs you should get a more accurate answer.

Edited by: Arrowyx on 26/01/2010 12:05:25 Roughly 8 years 220 days assuming you trained Cybernetics V first and stuck in a set of +5 implants. Skillbooks would cost you 650,004,500 isk to purchase. You'd finish with 167,412,465 skillpoints.

Well, obviously its a looooong race. Granted, such is not every bodies taste. But eventually, there will be a first pilot to get all certificates, either coincidentally or deliberately.

Unless lots of new skills/certificates for previously uncertifiable skills are released... like all capital stuff lvl5 for some capital elite certificate... good luck with that :) . |

I've made up something to create a ranking across all certificates.
1 Point for each Basic Certificate 2 Points for each Standard Certificate 4 Points for each Improved Certificate 8 Points for each Elite Certificate
where only the highest level certificate counts.
With that, the ranking across the first four of eveboards overall certificate ranking list would be:
1. polvo zangado with 522 points 2. Sable Moran with 504 points 3. Ravenal with 476 points 4. Robocopter with 473 points
Maybe Chribba could add that kind of ranking to his page ...

Edited by: Pottsey on 27/01/2010 12:52:12 Juwi Kotch the problem with that system is you have a 7day Elite certificate giving the same points as a 45+day Elite certificate. To me it looks like polvo zangado is not going to win the race as he has the easy certs while others have the hard certs.
Should getting a small T2 cert give the same points as the cert that needs fleet command V? ______ How to Passive Shield Tank T2

You're correct, Pottsey. The Elite Fleet-Coordinator certificate (which I would need more then a year to train for) would grant exactly the same 8 points as the Elite Amarr Industry Engineer certificate, which I did from scratch (I had no Amarr skills whatsoever) in I believe 2 or 3 days.
But, in the end, it will even out. The more the race progresses, the more the effect of easy versus difficult certificates will vanish. It's like a runners race, where a sprinter can head the race for a few hundred meters, only to be caught by everyone else before the end of the race, and finish it last.
So, just to make this ranking not to difficult (for Chribba to include in his website *hint, hint*), I would live with this.

Why not just count the ranks*levels behind each certificate? That gives you an accurate representation of how much time its taken to get it. . |

That would be nice if someone could pull the data.
Also I wouldn't mind seeing two races, one for PVP related certs and one for all certs as I think there are a fair few people like me with 0 interest in industry/market certs.

There are over 350 certificates in game right now. I don't know if the skill requirements are available via some database, data dump or API information. If yes, such a table could be easily created by someone who has the knowledge how to work such data (I don't), if not, someone would need to list all this data manually (I don't have the time). But if this information would be available, it wouldn't be a problem to give individual values to each certificate based on its skill requirements.

That could be a problem in that regard, that quite many certificates could/would be counted for both, industry and PvP, and it needs to be decided which certificates would be assigned to just industry or just PvP, or for both groups. I tried this once, and if I remember it correctly, by far the most certificates are needed for both, industry and PvP, and to distinguish it would not make that much difference or sense, at least not in the meaning of two completely different races.

the data dump includes information on prereq skills and their ranks of course. After that it's a matter of collecting all your certificates and pulling their prereqs into a set paired with their level requirements ... after that its just a small matter of doing the math :)

It's probably easier to just have a list of SP in cert affecting skills

You missed that part where it is stated, that only the highest certificate counts. So when you've got the Elite one, the basic, standard and improved version are not calculated. You can find out what to calculate when you look at your certificate page at eveboard.com, where the number of certificates per rank is shown on the bottom of each certificate rank selection page.
