Edited by: Tiberizzle on 27/01/2010 02:56:23 I've been having an issue where about 3/5ths of the time when I select character my entire system freezes a few seconds later at the entering game screen -- even keyboard LEDs do not respond. About 1/5th of the time, the system will not freeze but the application will and can be terminated. Occassionally the application will hang in this manner, but fail to draw anything over the Eve window, so it cannot be terminated. It works fine, otherwise, and if it gets past this one point it'll run for 20+ hours no problem. But, if I even log off and log back on, the dice are rolled again.
2.6.31-gentoo x86_64 wine-1.1.35 ati-drivers-9.11
This occurred with 9.10 and 1.1.29 as well.
Audio is and has been disabled. ~/.wine has been wiped entirely and Eve reinstalled.
This has been occuring roughly since Dominion. It's driving me insane.

Try renaming the EVE/res/Audio/Jukebox folder e.g. to _Jukebox. This also fixed a client hang at the splash screen for me, that I experienced since a long time ago.
The bug report over at WineHQ: Wine Bug #21451 See this thread: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1254681

I've seen that thread, but being as my issue was neither correlated with the recent update nor has audio ever been enabled I've assumed its unrelated. I will try renaming the Jukebox folder for giggles, though.

I have had the same issue as the OP under Ubuntu 9.10 with Wine 1.1.32. Upgraded to 1.1.37 this morning, so let's see how that goes. (The Jukebox fix did NOT do it.) --

Still on the ATI pain train, looking forward to more of the same with ati-drivers-10.1...
edit: crashed entire system 12 consecutive times before successfully loading this most recent time.

Edited by: Tiberizzle on 06/02/2010 20:23:34 In the off chance anyone thought ATI actually cared, I've had two forum accounts deleted on the game.amd.com forums for posting about their Linux driver issues.
