Yeah i know the mantra, don't fly what you cant afford to lose, what i,m wondering though is will the navy give a better edge for blitzing lvl 4's in high sec as well what are the chances of being ganked flying one? Thx ahead

To many things you need to give us. Your fitout, your skills etc.. It has more armor but if fitted crappy, then all the armor in the works wont help and also if your skills are poor. Again regarding the gank, a t2 doni is not a gank target, if you fit with 3 bill of stuff, perhaps and also the missions area can affect that stat.

Terribly hard to be ganked flying one (if you don't aggress somebody that comes in and flips a can or something of course) as they have a ton of eHP. That's most of what makes the Navy Domi better, to be honest; you have a lot more HP. Though putting another Omni in that extra mid never hurt anything.
They're not a really juicy target imo.

I wouldn't let the risk of being ganked be a factor in deciding to fly a navy ship, unless missioning in low sec. The object of most gankers is to reap a reward from your modules, not the joy of destroying your ship (hulkageddon is an obvious exception, and enemies napping each other to kill capital ships is another).
So it's more your fit that would make you a target for ganking than the ship hull itself. If every slot has an officer/faction module, that's a different story. On the caldari side, flying a navy raven doesn't make you a real gank target if you aren't fitted out with expensive modules. But I wouldn't take an expensive navy ship into low sec either. |

Room for 5 light drones in addition to your usual payload, an extra midslot for a cap recharger to make your awesome armour tank even more awesome, extra HP so you can tank longer with the same tank.
What's not to like about the navy domi?

FAIL!!!!!
So many other things to fit in that slot:
Target Painter Omni directional drone navigation tracking computer AB/MWD (if the eve-o rumor can be trusted) Cap booster (personally would never do it, but others do) This opens even more slots for drone goodness
I'd even go so far as using:
ECM sensor damp
before I'd put another recharger on there. I am as cap stable as I need to be and so should you with the layout of a normal domi.

The target painter makes sense. My Sentry Drones already have over 100km range with the three I already have - why do I need more?
Quote: drone navigation
So the sentry drones can move faster?
Quote: ECM
ECM on a non-ECM-bonused ship (ie: Blackbird hulls, Scorpion/Widow) is a waste of time. You might get lucky, but you'd have been better off with a target painter to blow stuff up faster.

I rate the Navy Domi as a superb ship for blitzing missions. ...this doesn't even seem to be a regular case of rats fleeing the sinking ship. Seems more like the rats are on fire, the ship is on fire, and the sea is full of drunk Russians. - Jacob Etienne |

Edited by: Bibosikus on 28/01/2010 06:04:29 Edited by: Bibosikus on 28/01/2010 06:03:26 Basically, the NI Domi (like the CNR) is rarely ganked and doesn't need special attention to that effect. That said, a lot of lvl 4 mission runners seem to want to justify their 800-mill boats by loading them with yet more isk-laden mods. So faction boats are primaried outside agent stations by the passive-scanning alts of suicide gank groups looking for high meta modules.
Just don't wander around somewhere like Dodixie station with your faction boat pimped with Officer kit. You will be passively scanned, cherry-picked, and ganked minutes later mid-mission. If you really must use a 3bill boat for missioning, do it somewhere quiet. Plenty of places to do that.
Short point to address the above "debate": ECM vs level 4 NPC's, which is OP's context? Waste of time. Also a waste of time if you do get ganked. Too many targets, not enough time. Far more use is an "ECCM" equivalent mod, such as a SEBO. Or a target painter yes indeedy - drones love em.
