i logged on after dt, about 12:15
and here is what happens.... we are in a wh, set up yesterday, put my ships in and got in the more expensive ones to log out in.
After dt today, both my CHA and SMA failed to work. That is, i could not put anything in the CHA but can pull it out. I can not put anything in or pull anything out of the SMA. I can not offline them to put them back online.
Problem is.... my scan ships are in there.
So, here i am sitting thinking... i can't scan, so, i can't find an exit to get more pos mods (another SMA and CHA) to check with those, i can't scan sites down and do them cause our ships are in the pos.
ok... so file a petition.... go through the process, and find the is a pos one. Filed.
wait a little while... hey i figure i am in a wh, nothign to do,... pretty much stuck till this is fixed, so i guess they will get it sorted asap. Waiting... nothing... not even any action on the petition to ask for more information, not anything.
So, another person logs on.. he's like.. oh.. we are stuck... file a stuck petition. Filed. Reply back saying a petition has been filed, please do not file a stuck petition. Oh... but we are stuck and no one is replying to the pos petition?
Another person logs on... they file a stuck petition too... we are all stuck and no one wants to be hanging around doing nothing cause of some cpp error? Same reply from the stuck petition. Ok, are they actually doing something? so i file a stuck petition saying.. yeah.. ok, so we are stuck.. pos petition is in, but no one is replying to say its being delt with. That is closed with a threat to me telling me if i make more petitions action will be taken??? wtf! we are stuck!!
so.. a little upset they are not replying.. we are all sitting around with scan ships in pos (game is designed to put ships in pos so why should we not put them in 'just incase'!?) I go away for a few hours.
I come back and still nothing 2 hours later.... so, i file a petition saying.. hey.. we are still stuck! no one is replying and you are making threats at us?!?!? please tell us if you are doing anything! Petition closed no reply?
ccp... what is going on?? Why don't you let us know what is going on if you are actually fixing the issue? cause right now we are STUCK! and your cosing our stuck petitions without helping us!
Some people may reply saying.. 2hrs! wait 24 hours. But this is WH space... the is nothing to do when you don't have ships... NOTHING! And the last issue we had while in wh space didn't get delt with for over 5 days while we were all waiting around. Infact the last issue, although ccp admitted it was a error due to the patch anomoly fall off, the waas infact nothign they could do... by that time we had already delt with it ourselves out of our own time we had to pick ourselves up and move on.
why post on here? what else options do we have when no one at ccp will give us a reply to tell us something is being done! all we want to know is you are dealing with it and its in action! we are stuck with nothign to do.... lol, even if someone comes into to attack our pos, we can't defend ourselves! What options do you give me if you wont even help us when we are stuck?! patients is ok, if i am not paying for the game, if my experiance suggests you do deal with it in a few hours.... sadly my experiance says it take you over a week to deal with petitions...
making threats against your paying customers asking for help because they are stuck was a real low! |

Edited by: Pesets on 28/01/2010 16:24:27 Well, they do officially warn you that you may receive an official warning...
Thing is, stuck petitions are generally for the characters that can't log in to play the game. If you are asking them to unlock the ships in your hangar, they won't be able to help you. I'd try to ask them to move your character to a market hub so you can buy a probing ship, then move you back so you can scan out an exit.
I'm also not sure why would i ever log out in w-space not in a probing ship (even if i have a POS there), but maybe that's just me...
Also, make sure your POS didn't just run out of liquid ozone and/or heavy water. If that's the case, they won't help you since you aren't stuck due to a bug. In that case your best bet would be dumping the fuel from the POS so that the shield goes offline, then destroying the SMA and hoping that a probing ship will drop.

cause if we had... our dread and orca and carrier would be stuck in the pos right now.... at least if we get move we keep our important ships. plus even if we request a move to a market hub, actually finding the right wh requires you to scan out.. not to scan in. |

And the OP just gave a great example on why petitions are not dealt with within a few hours... One issue and how many petitions? You should be charged for the time you have wasted. why.. because a) i am stuck doing nothing due to an error on ccp programming? b) i file a petition about being stuck c) no one has still replied to the petition put on about the pos being faulty
mean while i pay for a game i have lost 4 hours of game time. while exploring what they say to explore, and unable to reply in a few seconds saying, 'we are currently dealing with it, thank you for contacting us, a gm will be intouch shortly' |

Spamming CCP with petitions = an unhappy CCP. There is a que for petitions and by spamming them you are just ****ting it up. Yeah it sucks that you are unable to play the game or whatever right now but I doubt you are the only one and why the hell should CCP put you above others.
I also think your petitions were probably not exactly polite, which will likely make it take even longer for them to help you. 2 hours and you had sent multiple petitions, tosser. ------

It's hardly any better now that you're stuck in w-space with all those ships and no way to get them out. I mean, out of the whole corp, at least one person should have logged in a prober. If nothing else, make an emergency prober out of a secondary character, it takes less than a day with the right remap and the new char training speed bonus.
Originally by: Tartaru5 plus even if we request a move to a market hub, actually finding the right wh requires you to scan out.. not to scan in.
Request to move you to the hub, wait until you buy a probing ship, and move you back to the w-space. Then close the "stuck" petition and wait for the POS issue to be resolved.

Well, GMs can either send hundreds of copypaste replies a day about "being with you shortly", or instead actually use that time to investigate the issues people are experiencing. While people would simply switch from complaining about no replies to complaining about copypaste replies that don't mean anything. And some people have been banned around a month ago "pending investigation on possible account integrity violation" and still haven't received any reply... four hours is peanuts

hindsight..
i feel i may be being trolled here. I am also sure you have been thorugh the process many times and always great perfect solution for you... lol... what is the issue here is realising the is a problem and dealing with it and helping those effected by it.
but.. hmm that might be a little to simple. However, whatever the case maybe, its a game, and its suppose to be something we can enjoy and play, we pay for it so they as providers should go a little way to help people in difficult situations that are not of there own doing, but as a result of a broken game mechanic or patch error (its patch day!). outside that.. threatening players to stop requesting help when they them selves log on and find themselves in the same postion, more so that they don't let people know what is going on!
as much as i appreciate your welcome and informed simple solutions, a bug has occured due to there error and they have failed to help people in this situation. |

different people each put in a stuck request as they also are stuck and would not want to waste there time playing a game that they are sitting around doing nothing...
god i wish i was a saint too :-/
also, last time we waited 5 days..... great when your in a wh! the whole petition process lasted over an month..... when it came to patients, we had it! makes no difference.

A part of my RL job is tech support. And if I had people filing more petitions about the same thing throughout the day, I'd be ****ed and would be sorely tempted to intentionally put their item lower in the queue.

Tartaru5,
I understand where you are coming from. But I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for something to get done, all you'll turn is blue. CCCP is not known for their customer service, and their response time to their screw-ups are slow to say the least. I hope it gets taken care of quickly for you, but that would be the exception not the norm.

TBH, I don't think ANY MMO company is known for their great customer support. ---------- There is always a choice. The choice might not be easy, nor simple, nor the options be what you desire - but, nevertheless, the choice is there to be made. |

Not great but at least alive - LOTRO, WOW, Everquest, Aion. Not great but when I filed a petition there...always answered in at least an one hours time.

This is dumb. He's(the op) a paying member of Eve, but he cannot play the game he pays for. The least CCP could do is reply, even with a canned response, "yes, we're dealing with it." or "no, you're screwed". This is my sig, stop reading. |

There is no difference in substance between a automated response and no response at all. Only that no response is more resource efficient. You already do get informed that your petition was created successfully though. --------

Edited by: morphsexy on 28/01/2010 21:40:08 I feel your pain with dealing with ccp through petition system.
I love it when you put in a petition and they advice you to do something and when you do it and it still does not fix the problem and you send an updated information and you dont get a reply .
And after awhile it is closed due to the lack of responce from ccp or the lack of who cares we have your name so get stuffed .
My advice to you is just cut and run blow the damn things up because by the time you might get a reply it could take weeks if not months

"We have recieved your petition" this is the message you get when you post it. Now you are in que with all the other people with problems. Ironically they made a hotfix today fixing the POS problem, so aparently the OP wasnt exactely the only paying customer who had a problem. So basically if all had been spammming petitions like the OP, do you think the bug would have been fixed earlier or later?

Geez with those ships you'd think that you'd have at least 1 probe ship inside them in the Ship Maintenance Hangar? My Orca always carries a probe ship.
