Is there a program that monitors how much of my broadband limit is being used?
I want to take my lappy away and was going to get a broadband dongle, but was wondering how long it would take EVE to eat up a 3gb limit.

From my experience, Eve doesn't use thßt much broadband.
Plus the client easy to alt+tab with.

EVE on idle and simply chatting with light mining can barely max a 56K Modem. 3GB is overkill for a monthly limit and EVE Online, you'll probably use more data with emails and light web browsing. Large-scale PVP and constant mission running across multiple system will eat the bandwidth but you'll probably find the downlaod rate struggles to provide the content fast enough instead. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

I used to run 3 accounts on 56k dialup, That was for pve, pvp, even large fleet stuff, though I laged more then I care to admit.

I share a 3GB DSL account with my brother in-law. It's used for browsing, e-mail and in my case, gaming. Usually we make it through the month without having to top-up.
I often run up to three EVE clients and my play style consumes about 6MB/h per client (when actively playing). When the client is idling, it's way less than this.
Things like teamspeak consumes way more bandwith than EVE.
3GB should be more than enough.

netlimiter pro for nice statistics
nope, 3gig is plenty of evetime. when not in intense stuff like mayor fleetfights and stuff then you should be fine with about 512mb a month.
--- Donations, thankyou / hatemails always welcome :P if you want to "ragequit" or take a longer break: "can i have your stuff" ? :P i also like BPOs of any kind with the promise you get it back :) |

I know the orginal question was about eve and I agree with all thats been said. Just bear in mind if you use external voice comms like ventrillo you will burn through you usage, especially if its a high traffic vent.
Does anyone know about eve voice and how this would fair with d/l usage?
