so i made a FW alt. plugged in implants, bought skill books, enqueued skills, created 1man corp. so far so well...
my main question is: which if any militia is the best for a beginner to join? money is not really an issue, i just don't want to get podded too often and have a chance for goodfights.

Hard to give absolute answers, so let's recap :
- Gallente : Has Gallente Millita War College, where you can learn the basics of pvp if you are new to this aspect of the game. There's alos some dudes (mainly Red 5onya) running general militia fleets atm, with varying degrees of success (he loses a mega every fleet). So yes, you will have access to some fleets, but you won't get in the good ones.
- Caldari : There are some guys, Bolster, Gavin, and prolly a fw others I don't know, taking xs out of militia chat, provided you are more than a week old in militia or something . I'd say if you want to do low SP pvp, they are more accepting of this playstyle than other militias.
-Amarr : You can probably hook up with Fweddit dudes and run around in thrashers all day for major lolz and plenty of action. However, again don;t expect to get a spot in the serious fleets (W-BR and such)
-Minmatar : I know very little about them so if one of my esteemed minmatar coleagues would like to chime in, please do so.

No such thing as noob friendly. Perhaps you mean more inclusive? If so, I don't think there is a militia that is any more inclusive than the other. If you're looking to practice your soloing skills, than any militia is fine. You just have to understand the various warzones and enclaves so that you can get some fights.
Red has certainly helped take out Gal Mil noobs on a consistent basis. Now, if he can just stop loosing a proteus every week... :) Gallente FW Blog http://iamsheriff.com/blog C'est La Eve :) |

FW has a real issue with spy's.
So the first thing you might encounter with your 1 man/new character corp, will be trust issues. >>> SPAI ! Some of the ppl calling you a spy...will actually be spies themselves.. lol I think that will happen in all factions.
That said: All 4 factions have some good people. All 4 factions have a**holes
Min vs Amarr seam to be seriously un balanced atm Gal vs Caldari feels actually very balanced atm.
IMO you should try and pick your 'local' FW unless you don't mind moving. ( I guess a new alt has no home atm) If you like the experience, the logical thing will be to bring your main in shortly after. |

thank you for your answers so far. i don't care so much for assholes; i have relatively high rage resistance. my main goal is to stop being a drone and start being useful asap. as for learning PVP, i've been PVPing in several other games for more than a decade, so i do not expect it to be an all too difficult ramp-up.
