Awesome, especially as it was told via the Matrix
Now I'm not picky when it comes to things that are awesome but seeing Lincoln flying through the air in slo mo with a silver axe twirling around him (in 3D) was
That being said the Michael Bayish part with the explosions would've killed it had there not been vampires |

Friend and I watched the trailer for this before Prometheus and I am not joking when I say this:
When the title of the film came up at the end of the trailer, the entire audience burst out into hysterical fits of laughter.
Not making it up. I'll say it again:
The entire audience burst out into hysterical fits of laughter.
And...I don't mean that a few people experienced mild mirth and merriment, or just yelped a dismissive groan, I mean full-on belly laugh involving drying of the eyes afterwards.
Personally, it took me a while to regain some level of composure that the opening sequence of Prometheus where the muscular albino eats some guacamolo and falls apart, I just couldn't take seriously - like the rest of the film.
Believe me: this film will win an award for dumbest title and movie idea ever made.
It may be 'awesome' but seriously, I cannot take it seriously.
It just.......looks like a saturday night live sketch idea that some fuckin' how got made into a full blown movie.

I had the exact same experience when I saw prometheus. The entire theatre started snickering loudly with some guys behind me laughing like 14 year olds watching borat for the first time.
I just sat there gobsmacked though as I remembered fox has funded some of the best movies of all time.

Well, best selling books with an awesome backstory tend to be made into great movies |

Not surprised. I'm considering going just for the sheer train-wreck laughter of it.
At least this isn't Species, where they dressed up the movie as some kinda Sci-Fi but was actually something 'quite different.'
Also kinda saddened. I thought at first it was based on one of the Nathaniel Cade books (aka President's Vampire), which may sound hokey but are actually quite good (first two anyway).
I may have come here from Myst Online, but that does not make me any less bloodthirsty than the average Eve player.
Just more subtle.

I really want to see this movie but I will have to be forcefully detached from my computer like a Korean teen in a cybercafe for the next week because of Secret World. |

As a professional writer (member of SFWA and HWA) I for one am tired of the mashups that are masquerading as writing. Call me a snob; you won't be the first. In my view (and many other genre writers I know) it's lazy writing. Bring your possibles. |
