Apologies in advance for another dumb newbie question - but it does offer the opportunity for folks to take shots :)
I'm gaining experience with Invention using station resources, and I'm having a problem with decryptors. When I fill out the job request and select the decryptor from the drop down...and I'm looking at it right at it in my items...the job fails to insert noting that "This job requires <race> Decryptor". Without it, the job starts fine...but I'm looking for the buff from these and I'm making full-run BPCs. I'm sure this will be a head-smack, but what am I doing wrong? Are the Hybrid Tech Decryptors used for something else and I've just got the wrong thing?
Thanks in advance!

Edited by: Ruziel on 03/02/2010 23:04:15 Hybrid Tech decryptors are used for T3 Reverse Engineering, not Invention.
http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/invention.php lists the decryptors for T2 Invention.

Thank you very much.
The location of the right decryptors in the market hierarchy explains why I didn't see them right away. :)
Looks like I need to rethink a bit; seems that it takes a very profitable (read large) T2 BPC target to make it worth the investment. |

I think the message states, that you selected the wrong (faction) decryptor. See the Wiki for the differnet types.
And about the max run bpc: it always depends on what you want to invent. See also this post Rig and Ship Invention Runs - Explained.

Mmm...no; I was using completely the wrong decryptor. I bought a few of the correct ones just to test and it works fine. Still didn't hit, but it accepted it.
Thanks for the pointer - looks like a great thread!
