Hello together!
to those who are playing eve with wine under -> linux i would ask you some question...
i noticed that in some linux distros like fedora12 and ubuntu, the wine and eve.exe process can not be started then more as 4 times on the same xserver like kde or gnome.
iam alone with this bug or are there more people outside that noticed that?
because its for me bad, i got 5 accounts (i share some with a friend) and i can not run them all together... :(
thx lightmans

Just because you are old and slow and can't handle the load does not mean there aren't any people who can.
I have more than 4 accounts that i run parallel and MANUALLY.
No go figure and think about fleet ops like mining, hauling or trading, where you can handle several clients at once.

Edited by: Doublewhopper on 07/02/2010 22:06:38 Edited by: Doublewhopper on 07/02/2010 22:06:01 I use more than one computer. I can however manage to run 4 wine instances on one machine. I have never tried 5 and will probably not. For each instance i use a dedicated installation.

And yes i run them all at the same time in one fleet. Now i don't have to explain myself to you. You seem to play eve for 2 years. You must have already figured out some practical use yourself.

Maybe he had 4 characters mining and 1 hauling? that shouldn't be a big problem to handle on your own, or maybe he runs 5 trading characters and keep 4 on autopilot while updating orders on one of them, there's PLENTY of ways you can EASILY play this game with 10 accounts and keep them all busy, or maybe he doesn't keep them all busy at once, my computer is pretty slow, I have 2 accounts, and even if no single thing I do requires both accounts to be online at the same time, I still ***** and moan over having such poor performance while running 2 clients instead of just logging one at a time.
