Edited by: Culmen on 05/02/2010 16:03:42 I need to get better reasearch agents for my alt. I'd far rather spend time doing more profitable things the level 3 missions, so isk reward is of little consequence. All that matters if how quickly I can raise corp standings.
So which is faster, running trade missions or doing combat missions?
Also if combat missions are faster. for level 3s a Dominix with BS V or a myrmidon with BC III? I got excellent medium guns skills.
For trade mission is can fly a blockade runner.
and further more why do i even need a sig? |

Dominix with BSV will probably be faster. Your tank will probably be such overkill that you can put some speed mods on it for missions where you have to slowboat around.
Combat missions will generally get your standing up faster. Though one thing you might want to consider is figure out where there is a storyline agent for the corp you want, and then do missions for some other corp in the same system. That can go even faster sometimes.

I never hauled before, so I can't speak to that.
I used to run a standing service however, and know that sharing standings between 2 people, it take around 100 L3s to get standings from 0.0 to 7.0.
It would take less if, once your alt got access to the agent, for him to accept the mission and not share standings when he turns it in.

Edited by: Xauxau on 05/02/2010 18:18:39 I've personally found blitzing L3 combat missions to be the fastest means of gaining _corporate_ as opposed to _faction_ standing. Combat missions take longer than courier missions, but seem to give proportionately larger faction boosts.
Given the skillset, the Domi is pretty obviously the way to go for DPS. Just make sure to fit a decent afterburner ... some L3 deadspace missions really make you chug around.

Edited by: Cairas on 05/02/2010 19:18:23 Several things to note about the standings grind:
Agent level is the only variable that you have control over which effects standing increase. Standings are determined by the mission itself. As a result, an L3Q20 agent giving you AE will result in the same standings gain as an L3Q-20 agent giving you AE.
What's this mean? Don't focus on which agent to work with, rather seek outposts that have multiple agents that you can work for within that corporation. Even if it's an L3 and L2 agent... just save the L2 missions for when the L3 agent sends you to that system. Returning to station and docking is what slows down the process.
[Edit] I should note that if you complete storyline missions, be cautious about mixing agent levels as the level of the storyline mission will be equal to the level of your 16th mission for that faction, as such you would do well to make that 16th mission an L3 or L4... if you're concerned about such things.

Hrm? I thought they binned the storyline by faction and level, so if you do 15 L3s and then 1 L4, you will either have to do one more L3 or 15 more L4s to get your next storyline.

LVL 3's are fast, but I have been doing the hauler route myself. I use transport ships; the blockade runner for the 6k+ stuff and the cov-ops for anything less. The cov-ops is about as fast as using a cruiser but still holds 4-6k. A lot of the hauler mission is just moving stuff from one star base to another in the same system. I think the longest route I had to take was 5-6 jumps. So pretty fast. Might be something to try.
Good luck.

do FW plexs, every rank you get in Militia gives you a substantial boost to that particular factions standing.

Another thing you might want to ponder is L4 courier missions. Outside the story lines you can do pretty much all of them in a blockade runner, which is pretty quick. They are rarely more then 4 jumps, often within the same system, and gets you to storylines really quickly.

Free Advice:
Ask questions like this with an alt. Preferably a noob alt. Haters will misguide you otherwise.
That being said, it depends on the corp. As has been suggested above, if you can get a storyline agent in the corp and level couriers around him it would be golden to run level couriers. If not, level 3 missions would be optimal.
Hope this helps

How to always get a storyline agent for the same corp you are doing missions for.
Oh and if you always get a storyline for the corp, then courier missions are BY FAR FASTER. Quantity over quality counts for storylines, and most courier missions are very fast to complete. It isn't unusual to get 24% standing increase from one storyline.
