I woulda thought that us Aussies would have been thrown in to the American server. Is it a limitation on how PSN works?
Note i haven't played Dust yet as i don't get my console for a few hours yet , then i got to wait for my beta :P
How is it for australians at the moment? Laggy? Fine?
The reason I ask is because if the European servers are hosted in UK/Europe area it means most of australian's traffic is going to be going via NA anyway... |

Or are you saying that DUST514 is running on different cloud? I was under the impression that server farm is in London, and that DUST is running on EVE servers. |

I'd say dust servers are separate and located in specific geographic locations, as latency is an issue when it comes to FPS games. They probably have a similar architecture to say BF3, so when the match is finished the dust server will sync with Tranquility. A dust server located in Australia would be a must, otherwise aussies will play less laggy games. |

there are 3 confirmed locations for dust servers so far (no details)
central europe north america Asia/Pacific
additional servers can be added relatively easy
each of those locations handles the dust matches between players in its region for latency reasons and syncs with TQ in London for stuff like orbital bombardment, corporations and the like. players can connect to any server they choose.
the beta currently only has eu and us servers
i have no idea how australians can or can not currently play the game |

I created a new PSN account saying I lived in the USA and it allowed me to purchase the merc pack on PSN. Played it for about half an hour and looks great but high ping means you cant kill anything ha.
I think the best thing to do is check out what Sony in Australia are doing with Dust. See if they are actually going to support its release. If they are, the Asia/pacific server ping should be fine, but if it isnt, then you probs wont hear anything about it.
