I made a gallente female because all the males looked like hippies. I think it will be weird walking in stations with my petite female toon sounding like a man. I dont want to use voice fonts simply because making myself sound like a chick is kind of weird.

You could be a trap though. Think about all the potential wannabe ERPers who want your hot pixels only to discover a little extra firepower down below.

I would only like this if the guys looked halfway decent. Went with a female as I would prefer looking at something nice then an old wrinkly amarr guy or some no life military soldier caldari. Otherwise, people can pretend my name is Dr. Girlfriend |

And here I was, thinking the OP was a male character and wanted a female toon for Incarna to have something to drool over. I'm shocked :D ---- The Demigodess with a Conscience - An EVE IC Blog

Waaa, the boards ate my reply. Oh well, it wasn't that good anyway.
Just wanted to say I cant see a problem with changing sex.... as long as name changes are still not allowed.
Gonne suck if you want to change to a female but your game name is "Butch ManBeard" or something.

Hell no, a female character named Butch ManBeard would be the greatest thing ever.

I think upon the release of incarna they should give everyone ONE FREE chance to change there avatar.
People like me made their character too quickly and ended up with a raging *** all because your appearance is rarely seen (unless someone clicks on you and even then is only a portrait).... People like me are dreading the release of incarna.
CCP please dont make others endure my avatar's ugliness in its 3d form! The universe will immediately implode from shock!

Some people are born ugly, you can't just 'change' it without a plastic sugery, you pay for the plastic surgery with $. I think that they could just add an option to change your face for isk - like 1b isk per facial surgery and it can be done once a year.
I'd be quite fair imo. And paying RL money doesn't sound good to me, but paying 1b isk - why not? You earn it in game for an in game surgery.
Although all I'd wish is a haircut really, I'd survive with my ugly face... I'd buy a cape with a cloack (look at my sig).

One of the devs did say that they may look at it for similar reasons as the requester said, it was part of a big thread form several months ago. If memory servers is was in general discussion.
It was going to be a one time activity when we have to recreate are avatars for walking in station. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

I quite obviously said it first ;p
I think CCP should give me personal credit and employ me as a current version tester with a CEO salary!

Edited by: ParlourBeatFlex on 10/02/2010 21:01:41 WAIT: hold the phones i just found this on eurogamer:
Quote: If you're particularly attached to your current 2D visage, you'll have to do your best to create it from scratch. "Rather than write a hugely complex non-linear algorithm that would translate your existing avatar, we decided that the best such filter that exists is the human brain," Olafsson says. Character customisation wasn't shown at the EVE Fanfest.

I wonder if we keep our current portrait and just create an avatar or whether we create our avatar and then we use it for a portrait.
Id really like to be able to set my character to male or female. With the new voice thing where people around you can hear you talk in stations i think it would just be too weird to have a female avatar that happens to have an abnormally deep voice.

Im guessing you will create a 3d avatar and then be able to take a snapshot of it for your portrait. I cant see CCP making us use the old ones as there are people like me who wanna change their appearance. It would be a massive kick to gonads to let you create a fresh avatar that either had to look like your current portrait or not at all.
Im also guessing that while the portrait will stay in place, when you click on one and go to the character info screen, there will be a 3d representation that can be rotated. Or at least there should be... although it might possibily increase the loading time getting into the character bio.

I wonder how many players went with female characters because that's the nearest they'd ever get to being with a woman.
Hey, why are you looking at me like that??
