It's not something that won't let me sleep in the night but this V3 thing has a bit underwhelmed me.
- The Amarr ships are better but imo still too brownish and this somehow makes them less "Epic" to look at.
- The Drake is way too shiny and rounded. I liked it more "edgy" in its various details and reliefs. I think that's the Caldari spirit.
- Minmatar ships: imo they need a polishing round. Some miss pieces. Most are WAY too shiny looking. We want rust, dust and duct tape!
Camouflage? Why on my Hurricane? Now it looks like a Marine, much polished and shiny ship not a duct tape Minny ship.
This is very non Minmatar. Please respect our lore.

I have a feeling a lot of the color scheme changes were done with an eye towards the new lighting system we will eventually have as a result of the V3 work that was done, so I'm not ready to cast judgement yet. In fact, even with that said, for the most part I like the new sense of detail and solidness the new color schemes tend to impart.
As for the Vaga, I could take or leave the wingy bits. I definately wouldn't object to the Vaga (or all T2 and faction version ships for that matter) to have their hull models redone over time to make them more distinctive from their T1 ancestors. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

The Gallente need their ridiculous space e-epeen back. Camouflage? THE GALLENTE POLICE DO NOT NEED TO HIDE THEIR COMETS. BAD BOYS, BAD BOYS, WHATCHA GONNA DO? WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN THEIR PATHETIC CAMOUFLAGE JUMPS OUT AT YOU? "We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming. |

The Minotaur V3 was very disappointing, mainly because they were not re-imagined as a steampunk faction, with gears and sprockets whirring away on the outsides of their ships, and with black smoke billowing out of victorian style chimneys on top of the hull. Nor did the T2 and T3 ships receive their much needed brass and copper trimmings |

I like the amount of detail added to the T1 minmatar ships.. HATE the camoflage on the T2 variants. Poor Sleipnir, and the Vaga is just unforgivable. Vaga looks sad, vulnerable and abused now. |

Completely agree with OP. Can only think of 2 ships that look good now (I mean both in terms of appearance and appropriate to race/faction), those being the Stiletto and the Ferox.
The rest are rubbish. Half the Minmatar ships look like someone puked on them; and the rest are just dark and brown. I would seriously like a Dev to explain what the hell the thinking was behind the appearance of the Wolf or Jag. "Let's make these as ugly as humanly possible...just for the heck of it?"
Oh, and please consider hiring some artists who aren't color-blind. FYI red and brown aren't the same color. Not one Minmatar ship looks like it has even a single spot of rust on it!!

I love the wings, poky bits, and somewhat utilitarian look of most Minmatar ships, but I've never been a fan of the rust or camouflage in space (I'm terrible at finding space trees to hide behind). I'm glad that they didn't make them look more rusty, though I seem to be in a minority. It would be cool if we could have several options for textures (paint jobs/materials), so that those that like rust can have it and I can paint over it with something other than space tree camouflage. |

I thought that was the design goal for half the ships in the game to begin with? >.>

That's probably because things don't rust in space and what breaking down of metal that does occur requires millions of years. I'm rather curious as to what vast ocean planet Minmatar was building all its ships on to begin with. -.-
It does raise a number of rather alarming issues about the playerbase though. I mean, players are the ones manufacturing Minmatar ships. Which means we've all literally been sitting around looking at Minmatar blueprints and mindlessly following the part that says "Step 2: Deposit all components in salt water for 1-2 weeks" without question.
