I am having an ongoing issue with icons in the market, ships, items, on and in into windows and tabs being displayed as the improper icon, no icon nd only a backdrop image, or random pixels.. Despite numerous cache resets, using the eve file repair utility, and restarts the this problem continues. Only a few times have I been able to resolve the issue, then it starts up again. This also commonly happens with ships that have been targeted, especially wrecks.
The graphics are in my files, but whatever points to them, is pointing to the wrong location. I have been able to fix the problem through cache resets, restarting but the problem will eventually resume. There are usually just a few particular icons where this continually happens.
Something is happening where the pointer to the graphics files starts pointing to a new location. Can this be resolved?

This issue has been ongoing for a long time. I am tired of clearing cache (worked a few times) updating drivers ATI/AMD. After posting about this issue multiple times I am about to give up. Game is borderline unplayable and if GMs/Devs cant even respond to this issue then I have no choice but to unsub. Ive been an active eve player for over 6 years but the help from ccp is terrible. Eve is a sandbox in and out of game, basically you are on your own, this is no way to handle the technical side of your game. Ive filed petitions on this matter and the only help I was given was to clear cache. Your brilliant "fix" doesnt work for everything but that is all your GMs are able to do to help. /end rant
Issue is same as stated in OP. GPU = ATI 4600hd OS = XP Cache = cleared Driver = updated
Solution = Quit EVE?

Still no response from anyone.....great job ccp. Thank you for you continued service to your paying customers. After 6 years of paying for this fine level of service I guess the time has come to unsub. |

The problem with this is it's extremely hard to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue. It's most likely that the cache files are becoming corrupt either while being written of afterwards. The causes could be, to name a few: internet problems,could be anywhere to/from the server to the client computer Anti-virus software, adding the cache folder to an excluded list should help with this Fragmented harddrive, schedule the harddrive to be defragmented at least once a week should solve that issue.
Also if you have hard linked the cache folder to a different harddrive or external harddrive this has been known to happen.
