It doesn't necessarily have to be heavily balanced, awesome fantasy ships usually won't be, but "Worm but it fires doomsdays instead of missiles" is silly.

For me it would be a Legion that has 50m3 dronebay that comes with the hull (50MBit, without drone bonuses) and an anti-neutralizer engineering subsystem (20% per lvl). These two changes will make the Legion a usable ship IMHO.

Name: Matriarch Base Hull: Providence Flavor Text: Not all Amarrians are quick to pass up profit in the name of religion. A certain entreprenuer, for instance, decide to disobey a very important order to let all drone hives die to the holy laser. Upon hearing that the Gallente were offering a handsome bounty for the parts of these creatures to use in their weapons research, he loaded up his entire merchant fleet with the wrecked things and proceeded onward towards Gallente space.
The merchant was never heard from again, but when the Federal Fleet finally got the outbreak under control, they had something unique to show for it, several large rogue drone vessels which had never been seen before. Possessing the innate regenerative ability of rogue drone hulls along with a natural empathy towards other automated servant, Creodron scientists were eventually able to put these behemoths under the control of a select few pilots before beginning large-scale growth of the shiptype under Gallente control.
Skill Mods: Gallente Battleship: 10 % Bonus to drone damage/HP/logistics/speed/tracking per level. Amarr Battleship: 50 % to 100 % reduced capacitor need for local repair modules. Advanced Drone Interfacing (Role Bonus): +1 to drones in space per level.

Yay droneboats. I particularly like the Amarr bonus basically allowing passive armor tanking. It'd be a crazy ship, to be sure, but I tried to give it some downsides so it isn't a wtfpwnmobile (no gun DPS, slow, big sig radius, basically its entire arsenal is destroyable drones).

Fast, some drones, a good amount of guns, nice tracking, able to fit either an active armor tank or a passable shield tank, and a sig radius that is enough to withstand larger ship's guns for a while.
Luckily, they are already in the game, in the form of Dramiel, Comet, Taranis, to a lesser extent Ishkur and Cynabal (AB'd high 800 speed is a bit too low, but the extra damage works wonders) (though the navy vex works a bit as well).

"heavy recon" based on the tier 2 BC hulls using the bonuses from the racial Combat Recons. NO covops cloak obviously but even without it that might end up being severely overpowered.

Take each Caldari gunbot, increase base speed by 25%, swap the optimal bonus for rof or damage, and give them enough grid to fit a decent shield buffer with neutron blasters.
Fast shield tanked blasterboats with enough mids for a tank and full tackle for the (imaginary) win
