I know there are probably more people with this issue, but they are drowned in all the topics most likely.
The game was working fine till 2 days ago(26-05) after downtime. The first time I started after downtime I managed to login normally. A couple hours later I exited the game to restart and when i pressed play on the launcher, I got an error message titled: Verification Failure.
The message contained: Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe location in the EVE game directory or re-install the game client.
Yesterday: After having this issue a couple of time, I re-installed the game client and it was gone untill I just tried to login again. During the day today I had no problems except for the client trying to patch the game and it failing every time, but I still managed to launch and play EVE.
Now I try to get online again at 00:55 CET and I get the same message again about the client installation being modified, damaged or corrupt. I've seen several people on the forums who had this issue aswell, but no fix as of yet.
Now I still tried to login and still had the same message come up. Repair tool won't do anything as it stops after about a minute. Already re-installed the game once and even though that helped for maybe 1 day, I would not like to do it again.

OK this sounds like a read/write lock issue, you should follow the following steps:
- Remember the names of the files which are reported as being corrupt.
- Open Windows Task Manager and make sure no ExeFile.exe, repair.exe or launcher.exe is running.
- Delete all files reported as corrupt and run the repair tool as administrator.
- Again make sure no ExeFile.exe, repair.exe or launcher.exe is running.
- Run the launcher and try to start the game again.
There are a few more advanced things you could do but I recommend first following the steps above and reporting back to me (you can EVEMail me as well). CCP Sputnik | Software Engineer | Team Undone Unit

After reinstalling the game last night for the second time, I managed to login normally and aswell during the day today. Got home after work around 19:30 CET and wanted to play a bit. Launcher showed another DT, so waited till that was over. Launcher starts to patch when the servers are back up again, it completes the patch.
I press play and here we go again. Error message comes up:
"Verification Failure.
Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe location in the EVE game directory or re-install the game client."
I did do a clean reinstall of EVE the night before... Did not do anything else after that to the eve folder. Running repair.exe does nothing at all. Every time it goes to one point and then it just stops and says: An error occurred during the repair.
Never had this problem for over the year I've played untill the downtime of 26/06. |
