Hi everyone,
My brother has watched me play eve for a few weeks now and wants to play using my computer. I'm not letting him use my character slots so he would need to create his own account. If he creates his own account will he get a 14 day trial play? He doesn't want to pay out just yet in case he doesn't get on with it and I don't want to use up my slots so he can play on mine.
Is this even allowed to have two accounts on the same computer?

If you send him a buddy invite he will get 21 day free trial and you will receive 30 days game time on your account when he subscribes.
You can have as many accounts on the same computer as you like, I run two myself, both of which can be run from the same client install. All that happens is you choose your login name from the drop down of those you have entered before, then type in the password.
There are ways to separate which install you use, if you prefer, just copy the install folder and have a second shortcut with your brother's name on pointing to the exe file in the second folder.

At the bottom of the main menu on the left, go into Account Management, sign in and use the link on the right for Buddy System Invites. Use your brother's email address and click send. Be sure he checks his spam folder as some email services send mails from addresses they don't recognize to spam.
All he has to do is click the link in the email and setup his account.

Just remember you can't have a trial account and a full account running at the same time on the same computer so remember to close down your client before he log in.

Well, there's no reason NOT to activate the buddy trial right away (unless you want to save some money till payday).

Huh? Why's that?
because trials are for new players, not throw away scout or suicide gank alts.

Is that just your opinion or does CCP actually state somewhere that you CAN'T use a trial account if you already have a paying one? As in, it's against the EULA.

It's not against the EULA to have multiple accounts, you just can't RUN a trial and a full account on the same computer at the same time. It gives an error message when you try to log in the second time.
You can run 2 or more full accounts, though, have your alt fleet up with your main etc. But they must be full accounts.

Just going to add my 2 isks.
If you have a laptop/another computer lying around and router setup, put eve on the second computer. You can both play at the same time with different accounts; do missions, explore, ninja salvage, scam, whatever together. Heck you can even setup your very own corp to evade the CCP tax (wish I could do that in RL with the IRS).
Other than that, you should have 2 installs of Eve on the same computer. It's because if he changes the layout of his UI (user interface), it might screw up yours when you log in on your account. If you have 2 separate installs, this problem doesn't happen.
I hope he enjoys Eve.
