Edited by: Noferatu on 18/02/2010 14:36:39 A while back I got podded in low sec and had my SP reduced because I'd failed to notice that my med clone didn't fully cover my SP.
I'd trained my char to Metallurgy level 5 in order to train Scrap Metal Reproc (at that time, up to level 4).
I lost 2 levels of Metallurgy, but SMR stayed as it was.
So despite losing points on a lower-ranked skill, I lost no points on a higher skill that depended on the former.
My reprocessing skills are essentially the same as they were before being podded.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Or should this be posted to a petition?

The SP is reduced from the skill with the most SP which is why you can see podded capital piots with BS 4.
Edit - I bet you can't train scrap metal to the next level now.

Maybe I didn't explain myself properly: I HAD - Metallurgy 5 Scrap Metal Reproc 4
After an SP deduction from insufficient med clone I HAVE: Metallurgy 4 Scrap Metal Reproc 4
I can still train SMR to level 5 if I want to (I checked). But I should NOT be able to, since Metallurgy is at lvl 4. In fact, I should have no levels of SMR at all, given that the training tree requires Metallurgy 5 first.
So I think this is a bug, and definitely not working as intended.

How did you check? Did you just see if there was 'train to level V' option, or did you actually start training to V?

That's incorrect. It's possible to lose a prerequisites and still have and use a skill and that's intended behaviour. What should not be possible is training the skill without the prerequisite.

Edited by: Noferatu on 23/02/2010 12:41:52 Well I've logged in and re-checked, and you're right. I get a prerequisites warning.
My bad
