So I have a bit of a story, and I'm hoping you'll listen. As it is, I've pretty much done everything there is to do in eve, from mining to pvp, to deep 0.0 alliances, to highsec griefing, to lowsec pirating, to factional warfare to wormhole ganking. I'm training for a cap ship and can say fairly honestly that I know the game. Now, when I joined, I joined a corp that was promising me 0.0 access, we didn't stay in 0.0 for long, but I've been in and out of it for most of my eve career. The reason I've stuck with that group, and climbed up in their ranks, is that I honestly felt that if we worked hard enough we could become a 0.0 power, we were making it, we had close to 100 members, and were about to pull off two major mergers. And then my CEO left the game. Let me say something, I'm not really cut out to be a CEO, I'm great at middle level leadership and directorship roles, I'm good with internal politics, I'm good at helping people further down, and keeping things organized, but I'm not cut out for diplomacy beyond 'we kill you next' and honestly, I'm not really the CEO type. The corp fell apart. It completely collapsed, most of the members, myself included, ended up in a new corp. But the problem is, with this new corp, all the people in it want to do is grief carebears in highsec and mess around. I feel rather lost now. I've flown with the same people for over two years, do I abandon my friends to pursue my dreams? If so, where do I go? What do I do? I don't want to end up as some mindless grunt in an 0.0 alliance, or another fail CEO in a 10 man merc corp. I want to make a difference. I've toyed with the idea of joining a roleplay corp, cause I like the roleplaying in eve, and I've never had a real chance for it, but again, I don't want to be another grunt, I want to do something important, I want to make a difference. Help me /eve/ I'm lost and confused.

EVE GD != 4chan
Honestly, i didn't read that entire post, it made my eyes hurt. My suggeston is to try training new pilots, take a small horde of nubs and make them your minions, could be fun, could suck miserably.
I don't have your problem, two days into eve I went into lowsec and never looked back, pvp is way too much fun in this stupid game.

I suggest you look deep down inside and listen to that inner voice. It has the correct advice you need.
Unless that inner voice is a Giant Space Platypus...that likes burning things. That little bastards causes way too much trouble. And don't even get me started on the Doom Gerbil. Horrible horrible advice they give.

This is actually a problem in all MMORPGs. Tons of people want to do content and complete epic tasks, but very few want to actually organize it or lead it.
Even with your limited experience in 0.0 you should be able to tell the corps/alliances that you want to be a part of and what ones to stay away from. You might have to try out a bunch of corps until you find a good one but it shouldn't take too long. Either that or HTFU and become a CEO and do it yourself. If you stay in your corp and don't care about what they do you will probably get bored and quit eve in a few weeks.
Originally by: Jim Raynor EVE needs danger, EVE needs risks, EVE needs combat, even piracy, without these things, the game stagnates to a trivial game centering around bloating your wallet with no purpose. |

1, Add all the important people to your address book. 2, Quit and find a new corp with the same interests as you. 3, ???? 4, Profit
If your interested in joining a 0.0 corp, start up a convo with me in game or have a look: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1249941

I'd say go ahead and do what you haven't done before which is joining a RP Corp while you get your s h i t together in terms of your emotions. I am sure CVA Holders could really use you right now. I'm leaning myself towards an RP corp yet I'm still shopping around. Or you can take a break from EVE and get yourself a copy of Call Of Duty 4 and shoot ppl in the face for a month.
