Tomiko Kawase wrote:I've had an incredibly hard time staying connected to EVE in fleets after the 1.16 update. I crash consistently while jumping through gates and after the 1.17 update I crash on cynos and in fleet combat. It's not practical for me to babysit the logserver while I'm trying to log back into a fleet engagement.
Prior to 1.16 I've not had a single problem with EVE and crashing.
Windows 7 64bit CPU: Q9650 @ 3.00 GHZ GFX: GTX 570 Superclocked RAM: 8GB
EVE is also currently running off a SSD. I also have never and do not currently use any form of AA.
edit: Also, performance in large engagements has gone down significantly. I have frequent pauses now where the game softlocks for 5-10 seconds before resuming. This was especially terrible during the Battle of C3N yesterday. We are actively researching these crash-on-jump issues - unfortunately they are hard to reproduce even though for some players they seem to be frequent.
I do appreciate that you just want to enjoy the game and not worry about logs, but the more information you can give us our chances of fixing these improves, so please, bear with us, run with log server and file bug reports if the game crashes or you experience severe slowdown.
I will also be looking into ways of getting logs to us more easily - I want to make that as painless to you as possible. Again, the more information we can gather on issues, the better our chances are of fixing them. |

Honestly man, I want to help with logs and such, But the types of crashes i get, There is no point, When i crash my entire system freezes, So if i was recording logs, They would either not be saved, or not contain data on the crash due to the entire system freezing.
Never the less, Ill give it a shot later. |

You are aware that any crash that outright locks the system hard (not just the application crashing) is almost certainly caused by hardware issues, right? Application alone cannot lock a system on modern Windows operating systems. In theory a bug triggered in hardware drivers may, but in my experience any case where you get hard locks is almost always caused by hardware problem, not a software problem.

I hope you have the same cooperation with AMD?
But i-¦m afraid AMD doesn-¦t care asmuch about their drivers and support.. It just feels that way after having used AMD/ATI GPU:s during the last 5 years.. why am i saying this, well look at forums, issues nvidia vs. amd..
...but pls prove me wrong!
I still love you though AMD... |

Raath Nambode wrote:Out of interest what hardware do people have that are experiencing this issue?
I have 2 machines that I play eve on. My works laptop and my home computer. At home I have an intel i5 CPU and Nvidia graphics card and can play without the crashes but I do get crippling FPS after about an hours play.
This laptop however has an AMD tri core CPU and ATI Radeon graphics card. It's well above min spec to play eve and can handle the strain but since yesterdays update it is crashing as most people in this thread are describing.
Am wondering if something was added to the last update that is incompatible with ATI cards.

Im not the only one getting these exact same crashes, A few people with the same model Graphics cards are getting it too.
I ran stress tests and everything, No issues.
It has to be eve, my card is barely a month old. |

People are saying eve crashes, which usually means a CTD. What you've described above sounds like a system hard lock, meaning the only way to fix it is to hit the reset or power button.
If that's the case, especially if your entire system is brand new: - Download new audio drivers (assuming you're running Realtek) - Download new video drivers (not the beta version) - Reseat and confirm your RAM is configured correctly - Reseat your video card - Monitor the system temperature
If you only play eve, try other games. I had major issues with a new system playing Bioshock, if you can play it for 3 hours straight, and you've tried all the above, then it's eve.
If your system is still running after eve crashes, then it's not a hard lock and you shouldn't use the phrase "entire system freezes." |

I have Downloaded all new drivers, Reseated both ram and graphics card already, Ran mem test, Used Furmark to push graphics card to about 60c, Temps are fine in eve, I played metro 2033 for hours and hours yesterday, No issues.
And it is an entire system lock, I cant even alt tab, I have to restart. Its certainly eve.
Thanks for the advice though, |

Since the expansion I have been having client lock up problems. The client will go black, and say eve not responding. Will last for about 30seconds to a minute. Then will clear whatever it is out and display again.
I have run a virus scan. Reset modem and router multiple times. Run disc defragmenter.
For the game, I have had anti-aliasing disabled since before the patch. Also, I've cleared cache. All graphics are on low. Effects all off.
No change and seems to be getting worse all the time. I suppose since it does not outright crash you are getting none of the automatic reports.
If this continues it will become unplayable. I have an old system. But it didn't have problems til the latest expansion.
edit- and during the freeze the mouse doesn't respond and no other programs respond. It only happens when I have eve running. Something is not right with the game. |

Is your problems solved yet Lili? There was a thread for Nvidia cards claiming to fix recent issues. |

The game doesn't close on me. It does lock up, and also locks my mouse for about 30 seconds to a minute. Then it clears whatever is fubared for another 2-5 minutes before it happens all over again.
I'm sick of this ****. The game was running ok before the expansion. It seems almost every time there is an expansion they create a memory leak or resurrect some problem that had been fixed perviously. And of course then the new stuff is sometimes the wonderful convenient and efficient inventory system when the previous methods for navigating one's possessions was fine. |

No, as I stated I have a "Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS" card. Anyway I have disabled desktop composition. It got better for a little while and then has become worse than it ever was. Every warp I do now the game locks. It is officially unplayable.
Multiple accounts will not be renewed. I may still log a single client on another computer that appears to be working at least for now. However, for the most part, bye bye Eve.
Fix the ******* game and I might come back. |

I may have a solution for some Nvidia users:
I went to the Nvidia control panel -> Manage 3D settings and turned off everything with an On/Off option including AA + AF. So far (a couple of hours) and no crash yet. I did have FXAA on before but only disabling this didn't help me. (I also turned down every thing but Textures and Shader in game but I do not think this is likely be a factor).
My card is a GTX 670 2GB (very recent) and this shouldn't be happening, I can only hope it get fixed soon but at least I can play uninterrupted. Turning everything off is a pretty major trouble shooting step so hopefully I can fiddle with the settings and find a happy medium or isolate the real issue.

I couldnt find the thread. If its not fixed try these, If not, Submit a petition or a bug report, that's how i got a GM's help
Try:
Upgrade drivers Downgrade drivers Remove and reseat the graphics card Lower eves settings until it is fixed.
IM not sure what else you could try, I don't have any nvidia cards so i cant test that specific problem. |
