So, i decided today to kill some NPC Battleships, to break up all the Bistot-mining and money-counting us FA types do. I've done lots of NPC'ing in the past, always in my trust 'thron with railguns.
Anywho, i warp into the belt, Serp Protectors (frigs) start flying towards me @ 1500/sec so i think, no problemo - open fire with my rails, 2 go bang. Then one runs away @ 1500/sec. Very shortly it is out of range. Then the 2 BS come in to give it a go, flying directly at me @ 1500/sec.
As soon as i get down to their armor (when they get to about 45km away), they turn tail and run like cowards at 1500m/sec. Then they hover around at 150km, still travelling at 1500/sec until all their armor / shields are repaired and then head back towards me again.
I continued this game of cat+mouse for about 30 mins before giving up.
They never come within web range, so i can't web them. Since the twin-mwd nerf, I can't even get my 'thron up to anywhere near 1500m/sec, so short of fitting a whole load of tracking mods and hoping for a complete set of wrecking shot, i'm open on suggestions as to how to kill them.
In the mean time, i'm going to head back to mining my Bistot and counting my ISK. Oh, and hoarding all the Tech 2 blueprints. Almost forgot that one.

Trust CCP to come up with new stupid ideas regarding NPC's. I guess you are supposed to have a buddy in a cruiser or frigate/interceptor to do the webbing of them.
Go to empire and do agent missions, for some odd reason they don't run away. -------------------------

btw, many agent missions in Empire are bugged atm (well, at least the kill ones) so you may have to wait a week or so until it gets sorted out.

tbh it sounds like made the AI just a little smarter.

To be honest, it doesn't sound like the AI is *smarter*, it just has been programmed with different tactics. Tactics, that in conjunction with the dual-mwd nerf means its nigh-on impossible to solo a spawn because you can't keep up with them.
Now, i'm not whining. Me and a buddy (in a webbing inty) have managed to take some down, but it still is annoying as npc-ing was one of those things i did when there wasn't many others online cos i could do it solo.
Just wondering if anyone has had similar experiences?

Yeah npc battleships move FAST after the patch, VERy fast.
I mean i warped to a belt and the rat was 6km from me (Guardian Executor, Long Range rat) and even before i stopped the warp it was already moving away at crazy speed and it stopped moving when it reached its optimal.
It's a problem if u have a close range setup and i really think it's some mistake.

anyone notice that npc's have gotten stronger hp wise? i used to go around pwning 90k mallers at my pleasure, until exodus before 90k mallers did 100 damage at about 15km or less. the new 90k mallers shoot faster, shoot longer, shoot harder, the new 90k mallers shot me at 34km 2 shots a second for 100 damage, i almost got pwned. (there were 3 but 2 were out of range so it had to be coming form just the one)
