Ancillary boosted neuts/nos. Ancillary boosted ABs/MWDs. Ancillary boosted guns/launchers/smartbombs. (Increases range on blasters/ACs, increases damage on rails/artillery, increases both on lasers, increases missile speed, increase damage/range on smartbombs) Ancillary boosted point defense lasers. Ancillary boosted strip miners. (Because moar rocks is MOAR!) Ancillary boosted DCUs. Ancillary boosted Remote Repair modules. Ancillary boosted Drones. (They do more DPS, but have to fly back to "refuel.") Ancillary boosted ECM/ECCM/Webs/etc., which would have more powerful effects. Ancillary boosted Warp (increase warp speed *cough*freighters*cough*) Ancillary boosted PLEX. (Provides more Aurum or game time when you fill them with 30 days worth of 800s.) Ancillary boosted Forums. (For when you really want first post, or if you want to post in all caps.)
Let's face it, overheating makes a difference, and Ancillary Boosted Anything is overheating without the annoying overheating mechanics.

LOL. Ancillary boosted neuts/nos. For when a neut boat wants protection against other neut boats. What about Ancillary boosted disruptors for ensuring that points continue even if you are in a frig being neuted with several heavy neuts? How about Ancillary boosted shield transporters so that the scimitar doesn't have to worry about being cap stable? Making large tanks easy for small ships and neuts useless .. love it. |

Relatively is such a subjective term. Going by technetium, the drake, hell any other existing imbalance or broken item or mechanic that has been in the game that your "relatively" should not be modifying "soon" in any sense of the word, and your "soon" should not be appearing in your sentence |

They don't need to. Their beaked ships intimidate shots away from the hull. Occasionally plays sober |

This module is too effective compare to capacitor active tanking, but it's not too effective on its own. Capacitor active tank need 3 slot to be as effective as this module (I need to check the numbers though for this point) : shield booster + 2cap booster or cap booster + 2 armor reper.
The capacitor tank is more robust because it doesn't have the one minute of death, but this drawback can be overcomed with another module, and then it obsolete the capacitor active tank.
My conclusion is that capacitor active tank need a buff. Add resistance to them is a good idea I think. Or to differenciate them a bit, armor repper could have a built in eanm, and shield booster could reduce the signature radius ; maybe these could be only effective when module is active. |

i think we can expect to see any scimmy supported gangs running one of these bad boys each on every single ship, for late surviving late reps or jammed scimmys.
fit them to everyone, "everyone?" EVERYONE!! http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4375/mynewsig2.jpg |

fit them to everyone, "everyone?" EVERYONE!! Not sure about this : when you have logi, you'd better have resists ; moreover when you have too many ennemies, the boost amount is not enough to keep you alive while your logis lock you.
IIRC, the asb boost with all its charge aproximately the amount of hp an extender of the same size give you, so if you don't plan to have more than one load of your asb, you are better with a shield extender. XL asb is a bit different though, because of the lack of XL shield extender. |

This isn't true. ASBs give you lots more HP than their corresponding shield extender after 10 charges have been used.
Large ASB - 3900hp Medium ASB - 1460hp Small ASB - 520hp
LSE - 2625hp MSE - 1050hp SSE - 263hp
X-L ASB - 9800hp 2x LSE - 5250hp
Basically, ASBs are always better, until you receive such DPS that you are unable to boost all 10 charges before you pop (assuming you are using non-Navy).

Serious qn:
Do they benefit from the shield boost amplifier module? And / or a rig?
And what is fitting difference to the Extender of each size?

Takes about 40 seconds to burn through 10 charges, right? If it takes more than 40s for a fleet to kill a ship, they obviously don't have alpha and probably won't win. Besides, the first 6-8s are all that really matter anyway, because logistics will kick in by then. About 2 seconds to react and broadcast, about 2 seconds to see the broadcast, and about 4-6 seconds to lock the primaried ship for reps. So let's see, 9800 / 40s * 8s = 1960 HP extra That's less than a single LSE. ASB doesn't make much sense when proper logistics is fielded. LSE makes more sense. ASB makes more sense for frigs without logi support that can get in and out with minimal hits before the 40s expires. |
