Counter-fact: so what?

Interesting. This means that you can build your own little trade empires on the borders of empire space and rake in the bazillions – more than enough to make your few-and-far-between losses worth it (especially since you apparently never carry any cargo when you get blown up). Sounds like you're in an ideal place, really.

Really? Where's the exploit? What was the "original plan" and how is it circumvented? ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

That would require effort and doesn't involve handing something to them in the way of game mechanic changes so I don't think that will fly.

I don't think there really is a point in -10. From -5.01 to -10, there's no real difference anymore - except that you'll have to work more to get back to 0, of course. |

I think they should remove the -10 floor. Let them get down to -514, let's see them reverse that through ratting.

Make neg sec status max value a 32-bit integer. Lets see who the real dirtbags are.

One of my professions in game is a trader/hauler in empire space and I for one like suicide ganking. For whatever reason may it be profit lols or just forking up someones day anything that makes life harder for my competition is good thing in my book. I tank my haulers, I use scouts, and i take different paths when I know a system is dangerous. I warp to zero and I don't carry what I cant afford to be without. Every time I see a Concord cloud my eyes turn into little ISK symbols because it means another one of my competitors has had a very bad day. In two years of game play I have yet to get suicide ganked. I am not saying it will never happen to me but when it does I will not be out all that much.

It's funny, when I suicide gank in empire, it's with an alt with near 5.0 sec status. I drop a point or two of sec status and hopefully make a few hundred million ISKs. Please wave next time my brutix scans you. I might fumble the concord warning click or forget my sentries or something...

\o/ I'm in a covert 'remove insurance' thread!!!
Still, i do agree on the removal of insurance on concordokken.
U wanna suicidegank someone, thats no problem, just don't expect your friendly insurance company to pay up. ________________________________________________

I've always wondered why they don't make the insurance rates based on your ship loss history. Like RL, your insurance is affected by how many accidents you have... why not make your ship insurance based on how many ships you lose? ...over, say the past 60 days or something like. There is already the mechanic in place to track losses. It makes sense that the insurance companies are going to charge you more if you lose a lot of ships, I would think... but I know not everyone is into the immersion/RP factor.

-10s have more reasons to go into highsec than suicide ganking.
also Suicide gankers expected to lose that ship, but they also expected to kill something and make some isk. Also you can get their pod, which might have implants, or at least make them have to upgrade their clone. and if they have a bounty you get that.
and smartbombs don't do very much damage. if your ship has a tank on it you pretty much shouldn't ever get smartbombed. (aka don't afk hauler, or ap a deadspace fit frig)
I've yet to get suicide ganked. and I've moved a few billion around. many Faction/deadspace/officer/bpos.

Warp to 0m... I've never seen a hauler get ganked outside a station.
Warping to 0m prevents you being scanned prior to jumping the gate and the only issue you have is if someone can lock, scan and judge the value of your cargo before making a decision on killing you (never seen that either, I only see people scanning the autopiloters from 15km to 0m on gate). Or.... just use an Orca and use the corporate hangar and you can't be scanned for that.

How do you factor PVP into that? Good PVP I mean, not shooting sitting ducks. AFAIK, it's usually a loss game anyway, this would make it worse. Unless you create dozens of exceptions.
Originally by: Amberlamps Warping to 0m prevents you being scanned prior to jumping the gate
So, what about when you warp away from the gate? You know, that half-minute to minute delay where you're a sitting duck. (Talking about big, slow ships, of course. Like freighter or Orca.)
If someone wants to gank for profit, it shouldn't be much of a problem to scan at gate 1 and gank at gate 2. Most routes surely can be predicted. |

would that give them kill rights?

No. As outlaws, they're legal targets. Legal attacks do not yield kill rights. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

You have a friend with an acceptable sec status in system with an Orca or some other mechanism for giving you ships. You warp to them out into the middle of nowhere and take the ship.
You have a friend scout out a target for you. You warp to the target and blast it. Concord blasts you.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
Wrong, takes no teamwork, unless you count a 1d alt as part of your team.
