I am goin to deal with this right here and now.
Yes, I am an alt. No, I will not tell you who I am an alt of.
I will tell you that I am not an alt of ay of the better known names in EVE's RP scene.
My main is in 0.0, slugging it out with Tau Ceti Frencheration and what's left of RAZOR. Frankly, however, I don't feel like endangering my alliance or corp by getting people ticked at us over the fiction of an internet spaceships game.
so Deshat was created to deal with this. An alt, yes, but not one without reason.

Edited by: Tizian Enel on 09/03/2010 03:29:38 OOC I kind of had in mind a single person alt corp in hisec space is kind of hard to take action against...
edit: I suppose I could have phrased it differently. Basically Tizian was trying to make you tell all the names to put on KOS list, not inquiring about whose alt you are (hey, it's IGS, she doesn't even know what alt is).
Also, did you consider Derelik is Ammatar sovereignty? While you do get minmatar slaves from there I'm not so sure the Amarr are usually raiding their friends?
This thread relates to 'Mehatek Slave Market 22" - now open for buisness! in case someone is wondering

Edited by: Tomahawk Bliss on 09/03/2010 05:52:25 like any character in any forum anywhere, you have to earn credibility and respect.
your toon is new, you'll be treated as new until you aren't new anymore.
more power to you for role-playing, keep at it, everything helps the community and adds to the entertainment of the game. but you'll just have to deal with the fact you are an alt with no rep or time for credibility.
if your stuff is good/fun/entertaining then you'll be respected. if you do what all the other alts are doing atm and talk out of your butt then derision will follow. it is a fairly common concept. |

My alt-rage is more directed at the mouthpieces that keep showing up to conveniently post things otehrs are afraid to post themselves- smacktalk, "ransoms", etc etc *SPLUD* |

'fraid you didn't catch your little slip-up on the IGS quite fast enough.
You really don't need to worry too much about creating flak for your alliance by RPing mate. You're more likely to attract it by making a mouthpiece alt, to be perfectly honest. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

I agree with Stitcher. There are several RP'ers from some of the bigger alliances that come to mind. One of them that I've met is a blood raider in one of the larger pirate alliances for example. His alliance could care less about his activities, and he'll be an actual threat if I meet him in space.
It's much more fun and immersive when you deal with a character who has a name in the world rather than someone you already know is someone else his sock puppet with no standings, no combat skills, no reputation in the community, etc.

I think you'll do fine. While I'll condemn you on IGS I think your opening post was creative and decent RP. A good introduction to a new organization. Good luck.

PVBOS eh? Interesting, very interesting.
As to redneck rage, to say they care about role-play would be contrary to the way they comport themselves in the locals IÆve seen. DonÆt worry about it. What is the worst that could happen? A war dec? it is EVE and even if it was hello kitty online I think Red NeckRage isnÆt concerned about PvP. |

Oh yeah, we get very nasty in character.
Out of character? There's a lot of great RPers here.
I started playing about a year ago and I'm still getting treated as the newbie I am. It's all good. There's a great bunch of folks here.

I think just about everyone knows who your main is anyway. Regardless, it's not an issue or a concern.
We've traded pretty savage words on IC terms a few times, but it all stays in character. The subject you're dealing with is naturally going to draw a LOT of criticism and hostility from most of the characters you'll interact with, moreso because your character seems not to give a toss about what she's doing to people and is more interested in cutting a profit.
In the end, anyone who was to attack your main due to the IC actions of your alt would be a massive metagaming ******** considering they're completely unconnected on IC terms.
As for the hostility, you're going to attract a lot of it regardless of who you are if you run in steaming as a rookie capsuleer, hurling abuse at people who've been egger pilots for best part of a decade and ruffling their feathers.
I'm with Tomahawk on his opinion, that any rookie capsuleer is going to be laughed at for throwing threats about by seasoned veteran eggers with tens of billions in hardware and corporate personnel behind them along with lengthy combat records.
Don't trouble yourself. The RP is real fun, albeit a little hostile . It's also a welcome change and nice to see the Intergalactic Summit have a little colour again from the usual circlejerk of spam that goes on there.
