I just tried looking on CCPGAMES youtube channel for videos of Alliance Tournament 6 but couldn't find them anywhere - have CCP taken them down?
If so this is a big shame. I thought the point of uploading these videos to YouTube was so that they could remain there for people to watch at any point in the future.

Unfortunately the tournament 6 videos were never branded with ESRB warnings when they were uploaded, we've had to take them down since. --------- Charlie Video Producer WTB: My kidney back |

That's the reason? Surely there must be some way to get them back at some point in the future.

Sure there is! It's just that it involves re-editing and uploading over 130 videos . --------- Charlie Video Producer WTB: My kidney back |

If only there were a way to automate the processing of multiple files, like in a batch or something.
If only.

Well aren't you getting paid, all the teams spent a lot more time than it would take you to put them back on. And none of us were getting paid. So get on it slackers and I don't want to hear any whining P.

Edited by: Sarah Norbulk on 28/03/2010 07:44:51 I recently managed to recover the data from my dead laptops hardrive. I have all 6 days of AT6 including the instudio. I'll go about compressing them and uploading to Eve Files.
I also have days 2-6 of AT5 so I'll see if I can't get those up too.

If they had to stop distributing them on BrightCove/YouTube then they can't just start distributing them on BitTorrent, sadly.
Whatever they do has to be done in-house. So it'll never happen. -- Ix Forres EVE Application Developer EVE Metrics | accVIEW | I Tweet |

If you have the videos that are missing the warning and a copy of the warning I can write a script that would prepend the ESRB warnings. Then you'd just throw the content onto a pc, run my code and come back after the weekend. I wrote the media encoding system for a imeem.com (>50,000 uploads per day), we included watermarks and other server side processing, splicing a pre-roll clip onto hundreds of videos is trivial.

seems like a pretty pathetic excuse, couldnt you have just put an annotation on the video or edit the descriptions.

They still took up 31GB of space. That's just too much for me to upload. That's just AT6; AT5 isn't in HD quality, but still is another 15GB.
That sounds really excessive, there's no way that the original videos are that large so you just have a lot of wasted bitrate. What's with AVI files, do you have the original MP4 or FLVs?
Many times raring or zipping already compressed video can make the files actually larger. Besides, it prevents people from selectively downloading only the episodes they want, and makes it much easier for a couple missing pieces to make the whole archive invalid.
