Every week or so CCP reports a new record number of players on line.
However, the number of systems remains the same. There have been no additional hisec or losec systems added in ages.
Found hisec exploration in The Citadel to be very unrewarding, due to too many people doing the same thing I was.
Tried finding a quiet 0.0 system to rat in, in Querious, Delve, and now into Stain. - no luck, always somebody there, or coming.
So, do we need a new addition to the virtual world, to thin out the density of pilots?

No, it is not.
Also, try a wormhole system.

CCP will probably ship an extra thousands of systems next year if these numbers keep rising.
But we also could be just looking at the Jita local numbers.

"try a wormhole system"
Wormholes are great. The first 3-4 months, you could reliably find a wormhole that was not occupied by a pos with a reasonable amount of looking.
Not anymore. My experience matches that of others on the missions/exploration forum: wormholes are crowded, also.
The only systems that do not seem to be overflowing are the Drone Regions, to the East. However, many, many complaints come from occupants of the drone regions about the failure of CCP to provide ratting & exploration rewards like in the non-drone regions. Perhaps this is fixable?
One thread of such complaints is 30 pages long. There are no such threads for npc regions inhabited by blood raiders, Guristas, etc.

Well, we could do with some more empire space. We got new deep space, new wormholes, but we have not got any new systems where most players congregate: empire space.

Aridia and Solitude are empty for a reason - there aren't many assets worth having there and they're a long ways from any market hubs. Any logistics will best be done by carrier and/or jump freighter - which are not inconsequential SP investments!

I can confirm that Aridia is nice and quiet. There are a few pockets of hisec space as well

Yes it is. They should turn up the system count by a notch or two. Very few systems can be said to be truely desolate. Try to escape the crowd. No luck.

Maybe instead of putting systems everywehre and ruining peoples trade routesand areas of control they could open the eve gate again and say the humans killed themselves in a huge war and nobodys left so they arent super advanced

There's still plenty of systems that are empty or near-empty, even in highsec. They may not be the best of the best systems, and you may find yourself a long way from jita or the nearest highsec wh exit, but they're there. _____________________ Horrors! Demons in the deep! |

I think the concept I'd like to see realized is living in 'deep' space. 100 Jumps from empire.

A multiplayer game where every one is entitled to kill you w/o any consequences ... even more , with potential gain to be had from your dead corpse ? WHY would you want to go TOWARDS other players in low security / no security systems ? Other then try to kill them yourself.
If that is the case then be prepared to die a horrible death ... cause:
little fish is eaten by big fish, big fish is eaten by shark shark is eaten by amoebas and amoebas are eaten by little fish
So, in a multiplayer game where the death penalty is losing everything you had with you at the time, and going towards other players in systems w/o real security will get you digested, why would players generally want to go meet other people ? o.0
Removing poding altogether might make this "eve congestion" non-issue mute IMO. No one would have any valid reasons not to go to non secure systems, nor would they spam the scan button every second during their play time, nor would they be looking for empty systems in the first place. - Arkanon: EXPLAIN YOURSELF, EVILDOER! Silly troll!
Without empire Eve would burn in flames and tears. There is a symbiotic relationship between empire and non secure space. If one is "punished" the other, or even the whole, will suffer. - Arkanon: EXPLAIN YOURSELF, EVILDOER! Sharkbait: Dude. |

I gotta agree with this.
In the last week 4 of the 6 class 3s I have scanned down were occupied by permanent set-ups. Faction POSs fully kitted with faction weaponry and run by small corps who only venture out of their holes once or twice a week to sell loot and resupply their POS.
What I'd like to see is after a certain amount of time POSs in WH space come under siege by progressively harder sleeper spawns (maybe building up to sleeper dreads and titans). This would discourage long term occupation while still allowing short term set-ups to operate. At least something needs to be done to bring the WH space back into the original concept of unowned and unownable.

The symbiosis as constrained by security/space. Is in eve more akin to a fish farm. Perhaps because it(security/space) gets less attention in the sense of a economic resource. As does all the other various commodities. One might consider that not all players which to be part of such a tight enclosure. Three, is a crowd in eve.

Put another way: 1/3 of C3 wormholes you found were empty and available for pillaging? Sounds good to me? I live in a C6, we get very few visitors and most of the C5's I have to transit enroute to empire are empty. I'm not saying WH space isn't filling up, but it's not the end of the world that most posters claim.
There's nothing stopping you from harvesting a system with a tower in it either. You'd be surprised how many tiny corps occupy WH's leaving no one online most of the time. Just keep an eye out for predators, the same way we do when outside the POS and vulnerable.

Exactly. Some might wish to spend a few hours of game play out there. At worlds end.
