I have a quick question on drones. Whether running missions or in pvp situations, some drones will take damage and need to be recalled before they are destroyed. While they are deployed it is easy to see which drone is damaged, but once they are recalled to the drone bay, they are indistinguishable. IĈm wondering how other pilots keep track of individual drones so that, when launching subsequent ones to replace those that are damaged, or when re-launching a flight that has been recalled, only fresh drones are launched. This is more of a problem when switching between types or sizes of drones. IĈd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

I really don't micro manage each drone because that can cause problems in combat. I'd rather focus on my cap, heat damage, range and situation awareness, than trying to micro manage each drone.
If someone is shooting my drones, I find it's typically better to just pull them all then just relaunch to break their target lock, unless the target is far away.
My thinking is, if someone is shooting my drones it's more than likely that he has more than one drone targeted, so it's better to break his lock and make him target again, after I relaunch.
As far as managing them, I just put them in groups by type.. I never really worry too much about which drone is which. I typically just toss them in my drone bay stacked. Then when I launch the first time those drones are already used until I lose them while the others stay in their stack.

AFAIK theres not a way to know which individual in a group from your overview has taken damage (if there is someone pls say so heh). I have tried in the past to launch from the bottom or top of the list but I dont recall it making much difference, the damaged one would still pop its head out now and then.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I like the idea of having drones stacked...that way you can at least launch a group that hasn't seen action yet.

If there's time, I'll often move a drone that's taken damage into a new group called Repairs or something. Then if I have 10 Hammerheads in a group, I can move a couple out when they take damage and be assured of getting fresh drones upon relaunch. --- SOMER Lotteries - http://somer.idiofx.com/ |

This. I've flown a salvage domi for level 4's for a while now, and that's basically how I do it, manipulating drone groups.
