If I leave a ship at a safespot, how long will it stay there (unpiloted).

Chances are someone will steal it. _____

Let me know how that goes as I've heard of caps being scanned out at more than 1200au... I'm pretty sure there's a post around the forum about it somewhere!

fair 1 but the chances of someone
a) probing my wormhole
AND
b) finding my pos
AND
c) taking out a large dread tower with 60 ECM batteries with no caps
AND
d) then bothering to completely finish the job by finding a frigate that's 500au away.
is somewhat unlikely.

Well mate, if you replace the AND for OR you may get better results out of that query! ;) Why must I find AND kill you POS to find your frig? Didn't follow your logic, but I'm sure it's there somewhere... my IQ must not be enough to keep up... my bad mate!

Sounds like your best bet is to hide several frigs, just incase some random person happens to find the one you choose to hide and steals/destroys it out of spite and you don't notice it is missing until its to late and your POS is dead

Depending on where you leave it, anywhere from 5 minutes to 5 months, but a more accurate way to put it: Until someone probes it down and helps themselves to it.

Don't leave it unpiloted. Train one of the characters on your account to have basic probing skills and log off in the ship.

The logic I am following is that the loss of the frig is pointless unless the POS is lost as well.
Which any corp that can run a POS (and he did say "our" so I am assuming he's not running a one man show) will easily replace the frig, and can probably pop out another one from the actual POS for next to no cost or effort.
So if someone does steal the frig, oh well, *pop* here's another.
But I do agree that it is much more likely to be stolen before it actually is removed via game mechanic.

This.
Also, it takes less than 2 days training to use a cloak.
