Does anyone have any in game experience with the various screen recording software for Macs? I'd like something as simple and as good as FRAPs but I'm not convinced on what I've seen so far. Anyone one have much luck doing in game recording with any of the Mac screen recording software?

Video/screen recording is built right into Quicktime X. I've use it several times.

Screenflow - I swear by it!
I was in same position as you when I made the switch to mac, its incredibly easy to use and versatile, has normal options such as remove cursor, also it has its own rendering capability so you dont end up with a massive multi-GB file.
The only issue I have is I cant record with it when in full screen, you have to either alt tab out hit record then alt tab back in or like me you can play eve in window and trim it to size to only show the eve client before rendering.
If you want to know any other details about the program you're more than welcome to convo me or mail me.

I've tried to use screenflow but it keeps crashing EVE. I set up a short cut key to both start and stop recording, however when ever I start recording it crashes the game.
How do you have your set up, are you using windowed mode maybe? If I start the recording then jump into game it seems to record, but that's not really doable when engaging in a fight and trying to record on the fly.

edit..
After a bit of experimentation, I found if I use "command + enter" to switch to windowed mode, then start recording I can then switch back to full screen with no problems.
This obviously isn't the most ideal work around but for what ever reason, the Mac just doesn't like to start the recording software while the game is in full screen mode.
Yeah for me i play in window mode so its not an issue, but its not a bad compromise, i actually much prefer it to fraps because of the rendering option, also it doesn't automatically save to your hard drive so if you record something not useful you just don't save it.
I'm not aware of any programs that record while in full screen mode though.

Well the biggest problem I have with windowed mode on the Mac, is the Apple Menu Bar at the top of the screen. It doesn't have a option to Auto hide like Window's task bar does and it ends up making the very bottom of the game get pushed out of view.
I end up with the undock button off of the screen and my low mods get pushed halfway off the screen.

How are you guys getting it into Windowed mode? I only get the Fullscreen option in the drop down list on my Macbook Pro. It used to have the Windows mode before the graphics update.

Is Command+Enter the thing you're looking for Venetta? That switches between windowed and full screen modes.

Use SwitchResX (search forums here for details) to set up a custom screen resolution just less than full screen and tell the Eve client to use that.
