With some recent futzing around this exploit was discovered.
A person with decent/high faction standings (from mission running)
This person had a mining fleet, with advert up for corp/alliance/minimum standings all to GOOD.
A member of a Factional Warfare corporation was able to join said mining fleet (this happened about a month ago) for some unknown reason. This was written off and forgot about.
A couple nights ago, a small fleet with a person with good factional standings had Factional Warfare people JOIN HIS FLEET and war directly to a safe spot almost immediately.
As a baseline test.
A fleet was made. The person running said fleet had 7+ Factional Standings.
A known person in a Faction Warfare corporation who had his corp and personal settings to -5, to the FC, the Corp and the Alliance.
This person was still able to arbitrarily see and join a fleet anyway.
I was wondering if CCP was aware of this issue, as well as what kind of impact this also may have had during Hulkageddon. Being able to just join a miners fleet, warp directly on top of them at 0 and open a gang ****.
So CCP? What's the story? I have screenshots as proof.

Maybe it's just an undocumented Feature CCP slipped in and I would like clarification on it. |

OK then. I kinda think they were suggesting you get that "clarification" privately - like through the form they suggest in said rule...

Get some of your corp mates to do this. Then you can snitch on them and make an easy PLEX. I will not be voting in the CSM election, so you need to go vote to make up for me. |

I'm still not particularly clear on what happened.
So someone in the Caldari Militia set someone who is a Friend to the Caldari State red, and the Friend of the Caldari state could join the fleet made by the militia member?
Did the person who made the fleet remember to check the Use Personal Standings checkbox? -RubyPorto

A FW person was able to join a regular joe blows fleet. Militia corp was set -5.0 personally, corporation, alliance. FW person could still see and join fleets. Regardless of standings because this person had run lots of missions and had faction standings above 5.0.

That's a hundred percent wacky right there.
