Try Pyfa. It's much better than EFT and will estimate the cost of your ship, fittings, and ship+fittings. Rabble Rabble!! |

What exactly are you looking for? A program that can guess how much a fit will cost? EFT already does that (though to varying degrees of success), it's in the bottom-right corner. If you're talking about effectiveness/ISK efficiency calculations, there are way too many variables to get anything reasonable. |

Pyfa is currently at version 1.1.7, you might want to get that instead of 0.9. FInd it here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=6391&find=unread |

Please explain in detail, with examples, why pyfa is better than EFT.

Note that some pretty small market fluctuations and overall changes in mineral prices, plus the mood of whoever's selling things in your region, can easily take a given total price up or down by as much as a factor of 5.
So probably going to be better for you in the long run to have a price in mind and build around that rather than going the other way around. |

I noticed that EFT has many missing module descriptions (first tab) which for a new or returning player may be a problem. The layout of the module stat dialog is also closer to the ingame one. One place where Pyfa falls flat in comparison to EFT is proected effects (or at least i could not figure out how to do it properly in Pyfa). In Pyfa it's possible to see the effect of a tracking disruptor, for example, on your ship's guns. But I could not find a way to see the effects of a TD that is mounted on a bonused ship (Curse, Arbi). EFT does that without problems. |

You can project ships in the ship browser to the active fit by just dragging it into the projected effects tab |
